Springhill Suites
Do the Springhill Suites have any "upgradeable" type rooms for PLT guests or are they all mostly the same size, etc.

they are the same size for the most part.....unless you are someplace that has a 'view'
some of the earlier SHSs-in SOME locations, had rooms opposite the elevator and near it that were bigger based on the shape of the hotel, although i think the newer builds are not like this....

I'm feeling like the half glass full vs. half empty thing is going on here...
The OP is an optimist who is hoping for better. I'm a realist who chooses SHS over CY because the tooms are so uniform I don't need to worry about getting stuck in a bad room.
The only difference I rind in SHS rooms that even matters is sometimes I get a connecting room and can hear the people in the next room. But even then, the doors are in the living area and you don't hear as much as night.

+1 to the above... SHS rooms are generally all the same. Which is to say, they're all reasonably nice.

There are a number of SH that have jacuzzi rooms, but they are few and far between.

I got an "upgrade" once at a SHS. It was basically the standard room but with slightly snazzier decor and an LCD TV. I didn't care. As with others here, when I choose SHS it's because their standard accommodations are pretty nice. I see no value in an upgrade unless there's a great view to be had or there's a two-bedroom suite (do those exist at SHS?) and I'm traveling with a big enough group to really use it.

Plus the occasional SHS corner room with windows on two walls instead of just one, but again, few and far between. I have only been in this type of room twice, in about 20 different stays in SHS.
