I guess I am confused 
I thought my status should change by February 1st. I was a gold last year and according to the website, I still am a gold. Is that because I was close enough and they just left me there or will there be a correction down the road?

You are a month off. Elite status is good through the end of February. So if you are dropping an elite level, then you should see it on March 1st.

If you want to know next year's status, you can email or call customer service and they do have that information on hand.
