We’ll credit your account with 500 bonus points per day at participating Renaissance® and Marriott® hotels or 250 bonus points per day at participating Courtyard®, Fairfield Inn®, and SpringHill Suites® hotels in the U.S. and Canada.

You can pass on housekeeping any day, for up to 3 consecutive days at a time for up to 5,000 bonus points per continuous stay.

Available when you stay 2 or more nights at participating Renaissance, Marriott, Courtyard, Fairfield Inn, and SpringHill Suites hotels in the U.S. and Canada. Generally the hotel will not access the room on opted out days, but reserves the right to do so. Please note that hotels will be implementing this new benefit throughout 2016.

Here's a list of properties from the Marriott website:

True, but if someone is staying 3 nights weekly at Marriott brands, 1,500 points each week adds up over time.

Cheers.

While I agree with the sentiment, I'd guess the person would only be getting 1,000 points per week if they had a 3 night stay (i.e. I didn't think you get the points for your check-out day/night.)

Tru dat. Still would take 1/2 year of heavy travel at a FS to earn one and when I was at that pace, the last thing I wanted was another night away...

All kidding aside, I don't think it's a debate that its a great deal & savings for the property if enough people take it up and they can scale up/down easily.

My 1,500 was based on a 4-night stay w/ 3 of the nights getting the 500/per. Otherwise you're correct. But we've had some FTers say that they take the housekeeping points & the PAG points, & over several weeks/months they've gotten a lot of points. One takes the PAG each time when he's at dif hotels (so housekeeping wouldn't apply) & at the end of the year he's racked up a decent amount of points because he's on the road almost every week & at dif hotels.

Cheers.

No worries. It could have been read the way you read it, in which case the points would be less. I knew what I meant in my mind when I typed it

Cheers.

I have two consecutive one-night reservations at a Residence Inn coming. Do I have a shot to get this offer?

There are a very limited number of properties that offer this - the wiki outlines the known properties at this point - and it doesn't look like there have been any RIs reported yet, so I would say your chances aren't good.

Plus it has to be for a 2 night or more stay if I understand correctly otherwise the hotel isn't saving the labor and passing it onto you with a pittance of points.

Not clear what you mean about consecutive but forget it unless you're not in the same room over 2 nights.

How does one go about refusing service in the app, or is the option only available on select properties?

If I'm traveling solo, which I do every week, I don't want maids in the room messing with my stuff anyway, so it's nice to get some points for what I'm already doing.

Its solely property by property dependent and a small percentage at that from my travels. If the property offers it, they'll let YOU know although it doesn't hurt to ask at check in. Check the wiki or call ahead if you want to plan your stays around the offer don't worry about the app.

IME, most of the time the only indication of a hotel engaging with this program has been an extra hanger on the door, next to the DND one.

Usually says something about displaying on the door prior to a certain time (2AM?) if you wish to decline maid service for points.

Missed it once as it was hidden by the DND sign.
