anything to know/negotiate regarding execustay properties?
We're likely going to be at the Manhattan execustay location for awhile.. perhaps up to 6 months. Any suggestions on how to secure a decent unit? I've let my Marriott status lapse to Silver since switching over to Priority Club.
Thanks for any info!

I would suggest calling and speaking to the Director of Sales. Not sure if Execustay properties have someone in that position, but there should at least be a Marriott person nearby who covers sales for several properties.
In this economy, any property would love to have that many guaranteed room nights, so I'd definitely try to negotiate a deal. Never hurts to ask.
By the way, in some states anything over a 30 day stay is considered a "lease" so you may be exempt from the sales tax and perhaps some other ones too.

I stayed at an Execustay in Manhattan for a year once. In NYC it took 6 months to be considered a lease, but they made me pay the tax each month, and after 6 months refunded it all. So you should be getting it all back right at the end. Not sure why they do it that way.
Which Execustay? I believe there are 3. Ill PM you the contact info for the account manager. She was great!
I stayed at the one in Chelsea on 24th and 7th. Its an older building, but very nice, great location, easy to commute too and from. I loved it and dearly miss it.
The one bad part is you only get 2.5/pts per $, and you get 1/3 of the nights.

Guess each state law is different. Or maybe it's even city/county law? Only experience I had was staying at a Residence Inn in San Diego (La Jolla) for 2 months. They told me there that anything over 31 days was a "lease" and exempt from taxes.
