TV Remotes - On Command

Yes, i know Marriott has no control over this. However,....

maybe its just me, but does anyone else find these remotes to be slow and not exactly user-friendly?

For example, I can't remember ever getting a remote where I only had to click one button to get back and forth between 2 tv channels i am watching. instead, one must remember both channel numbers, and key them in when changing channels. it totally sucks i think.

its 2009 On Command - wakeup and fix this.

Agree 100%. I don't watch a lot of TV in the room, but when I do the On Command remote rates as the worst of the bunch.

it's actually not on-command, it's the TV manufacturers.....there's a long technical reason but let's see if I can shorten it...the remote is read by the TV which then passes the remove signal back to the On-command box on the back of the tv which then passes a signal back to the TV or to the On-Command system as appropriate....1 Manufacturer has integrated the box into their TV's (I believe it's LG but not 100% positive) and as a result has a very very quick response time when the remote is pushed....while you didn't mention the TV brand name IMO Philips has to be one of the slowest out there

I find that many of the remotes I receive have this functionality, it's just not obviously labeled.

There are various brands out there. None are as functional as my MX-700, but the range from very usable to barely tolerable. But a bit of button pushing can uncover functionality.

Marriott needs to upgrade their TVs and I suppose they are slowly but surely (just not where I've stayed recently). I'm so sick of those old big clunker non-high def TVs.
