Got miles, wanted points
I just finished a 53-night stretch at the local Residence Inn as part of a corporate relocation. I was all excited, anticipating the fat chunk of Marriott points that would help me make my switch from Hilton for vacation next year. Sadly, when I checked online I saw "0 points" as my balance. A little more digging revealed that sometime in the past I'd set my earning preference to miles, so instead I apparently got (or will get; they haven't posted yet) some DL miles instead.
Is there any way for me to reverse this? I've already changed my earning preferences, but I hope to never have this many hotel nights in one place ever again and I'd really hate to miss out on the points.

Hi paulr,
I work for Marriott Rewards. If you call them before your miles post, they can modify your stay to get points. However, once the miles post at your airline it will be too late. We pay the airlines for the miles and for us to give you points at that point would cost double and it's not often they will make those exceptions.
Good luck.

Paulr:
I experienced the same thing when I first started staying @ Marriott's (from Hilton). I had put my airline # is because I had no reason to think that Marriott didn't offer Double Dipping like the Hilton--WRONG!!!!
Of course I didn't figure it out until I got a lousy .5 credit for Southwest....eh gad. There wasn't anything I could do about it....fortunately, it was only for a week's stay.

Of all the major hotel chains only Hilton allows double dipping, but Hilton does have restrictions the rest dont such as only receiving points on stays booked directly with them....another thing to note is MR does offer points on eligible stays for as long as you stay while others limit the number of nights to 30 max (so with Marriott as long as you're checked-in on an eligible rate you are earning points/night credit)

SPG actually changed this to a 90 day maximum.

I e-mailed Marriott. They said the miles had been sent to Delta, and to e-mail them.
So I did. Delta said they had no record of the miles and to e-mail Marriott.
So I did.
You can probably see where this is going
Does Marriott have any reps who monitor FT?
