Four Points Lévis Convention Centre (Quebec City) [Master Thread]

I thought I would share some photos and thoughts about the (relatively) new Four Points property in Lévis, just across the St. Lawrence river from Quebec City. If you actually want to be in the dead center of Quebec City, it would not be a convenient property. However, if you have a car and are willing to drive to the ferry terminal in Lévis (about 2mi or so from the hotel), it is fairly convenient. The ride over on the ferry also offers an excellent view of Quebec City and the Chateau Frontenac.

We stayed in early January, so the temperature was a bit on the cold side. I don't believe it ever got above about 5F for the days we were there. The hotel itself was one of the new-style Four Points, with a well-appointed lobby/bar area and nicely furnished rooms. We were upgraded for the duration of our stay to an Executive Suite, which was one of the nicer Four Points rooms I've had. It actually reminded me of the suites I generally get at the Westin DFW. One interesting feature was the sliding wood partition between the living room and bathroom.

Below are some photos of the hotel and our suite:

Love the pics- we need more in this forum!

I stayed at the other Quebec 4P in a suite and it was just okay.. kind of old furniture and tired setup. This one looks much more modern and dare I say it, almost reminds me of a W room.

Thanks for you guys feedback. BTW, is there any parking fee? I'm considering staying one short night for quebec city sightseeing.. 4P quebec city is 15$ expensive than here, but there's no parking fee..

Appears to be $0 - $12CAD for self-parking:

What your price will be can probably be sorted out by contacting them directly:

We were there in the spring and paid no parking. We used the CAA/AAA rate which did not have free parking included (but it was free anyway).

Anyone know whether the parking is in a garage or surface parking? Contemplating driving up in the middle of the winter and my car doesn't plug-in. Don't want to risk a dead battery given the below zero temps.

Stayed here last week. Both indoor and outdoor available - outdoor is free and was fine for a one-night stay in May!

Was staying here this month.
Still a nice relatively new 4 points. Not the most convenient place to visit Québec city but convenient when you drive from Montreal on the way to the east.
Was upgraded into Junior suite which was nice. Close to the photo of the post above but without hard separation between bedroom and lounge.
Platinum breakfast was a special (smaller) menu at the restaurant (choice between American breakfast, fruit + granola, milk + cereals...). I made a suggestion to offer a credit on the main menu as well as they have nice crepe and french toast and it would be great if we can order anything for 5-10$... (and this would make more revenue for the restaurant anyway).
Parking is free outside, there is also an option for parking inside but that's a really short walk.
I prefer the pool / whirlpool / sauna at the 4p Quebec but the room are much better at the 4p Levis.

By the way, still hoping for some Westin / Sheraton downtown someday (too bad they did not transform the old Loews in a Westin...)

Four Points Levis = Far in Excess of Expectations for 4P Brand Hotel

Four Points Levis = Far in Excess of Expectations for 4P Brand Hotel (7 Photos)

Four Points by Sheraton Levis Convention Centre

I stayed 2 nights at Four Points Lévis on a low cash rate during the holidays with a last-minute booking.  I did not have very high expectations this being a Four Points in a distant suburb of Québec City, but I came out pleasantly surprised.

Room

Upon check-in I was not offered a suite upgrade despite seeing availability online.  When I asked about how they normally handle Platinum upgrades, I was told that they had suites available on the 2ndor 3rdfloor but that they had not finished renovating those two floors.  My assigned room was on a renovated floor (9th) and they recommended that I take this room but that I could also get a suite if I preferred having extra space rather than a renovated room.  I went along with their recommendation and kept the entry level room.

The renovated rooms are quite nice indeed.  I liked the fake wood floors as opposed to aging hotels that have carpets – it gives a cleaner look to the room.  The bathroom was also well done with a modern look.

Dining

The hotel does not have a restaurant but it is attached to a Cosmos restaurant which operates independently from the hotel. People not familiar with Québec City probably do not know about the Cosmos restaurant chain (4 in the Québec City area) but this restaurant offers good quality food, an interesting menu, attractive décor, for all three meals of the day and it quite popular for locals. On the Saturday evening that I was there, they even had a live band and a small dance floor with lively atmosphere near the bar of the hotel.  This is not a “cheap eat” kind of restaurant by any means and it is not the kind of restaurant that I would expect to prepare my breakfast at a Four Points hotel, but this is the arrangement that the 4P Lévis has.  Instead of having the full choice of any item on the Cosmos menu there are 5 choices, but nonetheless the end result is a much higher quality breakfast than you can expect in any 4P hotel in North America, at least based on those that I have been to.

Location

The location of the hotel is possibly the only negative I can think of for this hotel.  If you are coming as a tourist you are on the wrong side of the river and going to the old town is not close at all.  At least you get free parking at the hotel.

Overall

Overall this is a surprisingly good 4P particularly with refreshed rooms.  I paid less than $85 USD for a room there which is awesome value given free breakfast for two as a Platinum benefit at the Cosmos restaurant.  I suspect rates are higher in the summer but most likely still at a significant discount compared to being closer or in the Old Town for example the Marriott.

Agree, this is a nice hotel if you have a car and are planning to visit the south shore (Chaudiere Appalache). Going to Quebec City for a day is not an issue with the ferry, however if you want to explore the city for more than that, the Marriott, Delta or Hotel Pur are probably better options.
As for the breakfast it is actually pretty good, I just don't get why they still don't offer a credit for the whole menu, that would give more choices for us and more money for them (I wouldn't mind at all pay an extra 5-10$ for their french toasts or crepes)
