Anyone know what the generous 40 point "SPG AX Loyalty Bonus" (SPG/AX) is for? Hoping they left a few zeros off :eek: I am at my annual renewal with about $100K in spend for the past year.

Most likely $40 in spend at Shop Small businesses earning 2x points.

In the past those post as SPG AX DEFAULT or SPG AX BASE SPEND - OPEN, plus I didn't have a $40 charge.

All of my recent such credits have posted with the description you cited. Mine have also posted in aggregate per statement, not as individual charges, so in this case charges totalling $40 rather than necessarily just one $40 charge. Maybe that's still not what yours is, but it's consistent with the behavior my account has exhibited this year.

FYI, just found that a ShopRunner membership ($79 value) is a benefit of this AMEX card. Provides free 2-day shipping at participating on-line retailers. Hope this is useful to you.

The targeted promotion that some of us received back in October (not the 2X small business one) just came through for my SO. We were both targeted for the 5K bonus on our personal SPG cards so we concentrated all our spending on one card. I had calculated we crossed over the $5000 this past weekend and we got the 5K bonus today. Combined with the small biz bonus, we got 3X bonus on about half that spend.

Can anyone tell me when SPG Amex points for a spend at Starwood post for a prepaid non refundable room? I prepaid a room on the SPG Amex card and only got the base CC spend points, not the bonus points for a Starwood purchase.

Just got SPG Amex and have a question. I also have Amex Rewards Plus Gold. I am already SPG Gold, but I will reach SPG Platinum soon from nights.

I intend to charge all SPG stays (around $600/week) to the SPG card, of course. My question, is it better for me to charge my other expenses (Uber, limo, restaurants) to the SPG card or my regular Amex Rewards? Which points are more valuable to me?

My Uber and Delta spends earn Starwood points regardless of how I pay, right?

Do you redeem Starpoints for hotel stays, or do you transfer to airlines, or use them another way?

I'm in US. I have redeemed Starpoints for hotel stays, have never transferred to airlines. I have actually never transferred MR points. Sitting with a million.

Sounds like you need a Chase Sapphire Reserve.

There is no answer to the original question without considering redemption. Points have low intrinsic value. Your value will be different from my value because we have different redemption patterns.

If you are not thinking in terms of prompt redemption Membership Rewards is safer than Starpoints, due to the cluster of uncertainties surrounding the Marriott/Starwood merger.

When does the bonus usually post on the business cards? On my personal, the min spend bonus posted within a couple days. On the business, it has been a week and the statement closed and no bonus. Statement says I have YTD spending of $5k but nothing about the bonus points. Chat with CSR said next statement, which I would like earlier.
