Now now all :o
AllI did was cut and paste these right off the latest Business Traveler International's Press Release They were listed under the "Deal of the Week" category list. If anyone would like a copy I would be happy to forward it. There is also a blurb about a British Airways ticket from JFK to LHR for 129 each way. I will presume like the above Starwood deals it is without tax and added surcharges. Being that is non Starwood related I will quit while I am ahead ;) |

After staying there two weekends ago I would strongly recommend finding another hotel to stay at. . .what horrible service their staff provides!

Nice location but staff have a big attitude problem.....or is that part of NYC culture ;) :p |
I will be staying there at the end of the month for 2 nights in a suite on a mistake rate - I hope there is no attitude but for what I paid I will take it :) and if there is some 'tude, I will just realize I am back home! :)

Not worth the extra for the upgrade. |

Is it worth it for the breakfast alone?

They will be higher floors and you want a high floor here to get a view of the surrounding area, be it TS or the Hudson River. At least you'll get a couple of free bottles of water! (p.s., there is alcohol in the lounge. You just ask the attendant to get it. I guess they can't leave it out.).

VERY Disappointing stay at this hotel
I've wanted to post for a bit, but now that I have a few minutes, I'd like to provide you with my story of "whatever could go wrong with a hotel staff did" with this property.
Unlike my usual spontaenous trips, I planned this one since I was taking my 15-year old niece to New York City for her first time. I emailed and called back and forth with the Platinum Concierge (Brenda) and Nick (at the WTS). I was told by both and also by another staff member at WTS that they would try and make sure I was upgraded (I am Platinum) and they would definitely put notes in my record that this was a special occasion. I also emailed and talked with Nick (who was wonderful) re: some reservations for dinner and a play. Arrived at the hotel with my confirmation number (after a long day of travelling cross-country). Had 1.5 hours before the play started (this hotel is located 3 blocks from where the play was being held). Went to check in and was told - no we didn't upgrade you but we have a room on the 24th floor with a king bed. Umm. . .I love my niece, but we requested two beds non-smoking high floor. "Oh well, we don't have any of those available." Well, here is my printout confirmation. Also, I spoke with Nick and he assured me that he would put a request in for an upgrade. "We don't have any Nick in this hotel." Umm. . well, I have emailed and talked with him during the last three weeks. "You're lying - we don't have any Nick in the hotel (said this in front of my niece)." Finally has the front desk GM come out (Guy). Guy was of no help, told me that I need to read the Terms & Conditions and that just because I'm a Platinum it doesn't mean that I get an upgraded room. Finally sent us up to a room on the 30th floor. We get there - it is a KING bed! I call downstairs - explain how this is a KING and not the two beds that we had just spent 30 minutes discussing. We needed to get dress and get to the play. I told them that after the play we would stop by and get new keys to a room with two beds. After the play we got keys to a new room - nothing special - higher floor - good view. Was never told that we had privileges to the club floor until the next morning when I asked if there was a club floor/breakfast benefit? Next day we come back from the lounge (niece had a piece of toast, I had a bagel and fruit) only to find out that we had been checked out of the room. We still had two more nights to stay there. Had to go downstairs and spend 20 minutes arguing that we had two more nights. I then was told that there was a message and envelope waiting for me at the Concierge desk. Went to pick it up. .. and who is it from? NICK (whom, according to the front desk manager and the front desk person J) didn't exist! I showed it to both of them - no apologies were forthcoming. Next day - same thing - checked out in the morning, had to be rekeyed. Go through the same discussion. Housekeeping never made up our room although we left at 9:30 AM and returned at 6:30 PM (no sign on the door). Final day -checked out and the rate was $125 PER night MORE than what my confirmation said. I called the GM while I was at the hotel and he was very nice. Said that none of this should have happened and apologized. I also called *wood Customer Service (per the sticky) and filed a complaint. I then received an email from the hotel (assistant to the GM) who, instead of apologizing for everything that went wrong said that she wanted the emails that I had received (again, not believing me) and that they would take the proper steps with NICK to ensure that he realized what he did wrong! HELLO?! He was the ONLY person at the hotel who did anything RIGHT! She then said that on my next trip to NYC she looked forward to welcoming back to their hotel. Umm. . .my next trip to NYC (which is in May and June) will NOT be at that hotel. You know, it's never the "big" things that make me irked; it's the combination of little things. It's the fact that the hotel never made their mistakes right and never listened to what I was asking/concerned about. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anybody except that it is a great location if you're going to Broadway. |
ldsant, thank you very much for your report. My primary concern is that not only did you receive poor service and attitude from lower-tier representatives, you received extremely poor service from management as well! Something needs to be done so that this doesn't happen again, with anyone.

You guys are really worrying me now - I am staying there this month on a mistake rate which was confirmed by the financial team and I have the printouts where they confirm it. I sure hope I won't have any trouble getting a room!
