Yes, in a different thread. There was a recent update, so you might want to scroll through the first few pages on this forum to find it.

Cheers.

Thanks. I'm all settled in now, so I won't bother asking about an upgrade.

Breakfast

Last year as a Gold member, we received a full breakfast buffet there. Anyone with a more recent stay?

Did your rate a year ago include breakfast? It's not he norm for golds to get free brekkie here. Just plats. And heck they Don't have to do it for plats.

Cheers

On Saturday, before posting to FlyerTalk, I contacted Marriott Corporate about no breakfast. They forwarded my question to the hotel management. Here's the manager's response.

You’ve mentioned in your response that you missed some services at our property such as free breakfast for Gold members, As Courtyard by Marriott is a select service brand, we are not able to provide all services you may expect or used to, since we have to keep our brand voice at all Courtyard Hotels all over Europe. As stated by the regulations of Marriott Rewards, breakfast is never included for Gold Members in Courtyard in Europe. This is due to the fact that Courtyard Hotels do not have an executive lounge.

However, to show how much we value your business with Marriott and as a gesture, we would kindly invite you tomorrow morning for breakfast in our hotel.

Mr. RNE, if there's anything else I may do for you, don't hesitate to contact me.

Does this mean that to maintain Brand standards they must not allow renegade properties to allow elites extra benefits like free breakfast? Seems to be part of a trend with Marriott in recent years where the emphasis is on getting properties to cut benefits to maintain standards (more so than enforcing the standard benefits that remain).

So does this property still offer a complimentary full buffet breakfast for Platinum members?

Stayed there recently. Platinum arrival gift was one beverage and one salty or sweet snack item. I took a bottle of water and a bag of potato chips.

Very nice breakfast buffet.
No room upgrade but got a room quite far back with a view of the courtyard so very quiet. Window in room opened and Heat/AC control worked well and was relatively quiet.

3 Apple Mac's and a printer in lobby for guest use.

Slightly off topic but we stayed at the Courtyard City East in May as a plat-- 2 nights on points and my wife and I were given free breakfast buffets both days. Very nice property and an easy bus ride downtown-- bus was 100 yards up the street from front desk. If anyone is considering this property for lesser points or cost it's a good deal.
