Hopefully we can get an answer on this because I too have been perplexed with their SPG Category. If we look back they were actually a Cat. 4 in 2005, Cat. 5 in 2006, Cat. 6 in 2007 and 2008 and now a Cat. 7. Other *W properties in Greece have increase in the same timeframe but not at the levels that this property has. Add to that the fact that the overall reviews are not that great and its location outside of Mykonos town is not the best. When we were booking a trip to Greece last year we had *W properties lined up for Athens and Crete but we were going with a non-*W property on Mykonos. Sadly we had to cancel the trip but hope to make it there soon. OT...if you need some recommendations for non-*W properties on Mykonos I can give you those to you to look at...just send me a PM.

bump. I'm STILL trying to understand this property's categorization.
One year later, and Greece is in the headlines. (Today would probably not be the best day for a peaceful stay at the Grand Bretagne.)
I'm still seeing the Santa Marina as Cat7, but I'm seeing room rates at least as low as €168 (USD 228) in May, June, and Sept. At least as low as €255 (USD 346) in July and August.
In peak season August, here are RACK rates for some of the higher non-suite and non-villa room categories:
EUR 390.00: 1 King. Superior Room, Non-smoking, Sea View, Balcony Or Patio, Modern Light Wood Furnishings. (Also currently available as non-refundable rate with breakfast for EUR 293.)
EUR 490.00: 1 King. Deluxe Seaview, Priv Balcony/patio W/tbl&chrs, Spacious Room, Contemporary Furnishings, Large Marble Bathroom. (Also currently available as non-refundable rate with breakfast for EUR 368 = USD 500.)
EUR 590.00: 1 King. Junior Suite Sea View, Priv Balcony/patio W/tbl&chrs, Comfortable Seating Area, Large Marble Bathrm/dbl Basin.
$228 / 30K points = 0.76 cents per point
$346 / 30K points = 1.15 cents per point
$500 / 30K+ points = less than 1.67 cents per point

If by good deals, you mean cash prices, I picked one date in early June out of a hat (6/10/10) and got EUR 168 right off the bat for a Classic room. RACK rate appears to be EUR 290.
On 7/10/10, the Deluxe Seaview room is EUR 502. (RACK is EUR 590. Jr Suite RACK is EUR 690. Deluxe Seaview Suite RACK is EUR 890.)
Rates on 9/10/10 are relatively favorable, too, and the water should be much warmer at that time of year. Classic EUR 168 NR or EUR 180 refundable. Superior EUR 203. Deluxe Seaview EUR 273. Jr Suite EUR 368 refundable.

We stayed here for a week at the start of June! Thought the property was stunning. The food options are a bit limited but there is a mini bus that goes between the resort and town several times a day any many option to eat there or you can just wlak down to the local area with some niec options to eat there as well.
Overall though very nice and got a nice Plat upgrade as well. Is there anything you want to know specifically?

there seem to be no dates available here after september....would it be because they haven't loaded the dates yet or could this property be sold out all of october, november & december????

has anyone stayed at this property recently able to give comment on how they got on?
I am thinking about staying here on a paid stay in September as paid rates are so low vs points , also on a non-SPG property on Santorini and finally Blue Palace Crete.

The property has a great location on a small cliff which make the architecture a bit tricky but intrigating at the same time.
They are doing quite well. Rooms are definitively not top luxury but they are comfortable enough and most of them have balcony looking at the sea.
The service was "relaxed" but up to the standard in most of the cases.
Their plus is the private beach that given its special location does not take big wind (a great plus in Mikonos)
The restaurant facing the sea was good and genuine and I enjoied great lunch most of the days selecting fresh fresh sea food prepared at your liking.
I found the breakfast selection VERY limited and the service slow.
There are two pool i seems to remember but never tried them given the great sea/beach.
I tried a massage at the spa one afternoon, but definitively that is something too organized a bit amateurish.
I will definitively recommend it for their beach/sea (without wind, again), the location and the sea front restaurant. But you should lower a bit any top luxury expectation and go there with a relaxed mood in order to enjoy it fully.
