The current destination fee ($30 as of 2 Sept 2023) includes, per night:
  • 1 draft beer
  • 1 old fashion
  • 1 dessert (e.g., cookies)
  • free wi-fi

Fulfillment comes in form of coupons for each item, and you can redeem as many as you want.

Yes, the wifi was free and I did not get charged for my valet parking, not sure if that last bit was an error!

Had a few rooms booked for me/coworkers there recently, all under my name as a Plat. A few hours after check-in, I joked to my coworkers that we didn't get our 2 monorail passes (on the booking page, the alert at the top states, "Please note - USD 23.50 daily destination amenity fee added to room rate incl 2 one-way monorail passes, one Kona draft beer and more."). We didn't think anything more of it.

At check-out, I realized:
1. None of us were charged the resort fee or given any of the amenities noted for the resort fee ^
2. Self parking was billed at $15, not $25 ^^

Didn't ask if it was due to status, very friendly check-in agent, other. We just got our bills and left.

Checking in tonight on OPM so I'll specifically ask if it can be waived and whether or not it's a policy for P, PP and PP+A. I don't really care one way or the other, although I'd rather not pay it as I hate "resort fee's" and think they cheapen the whole system...

A long time SPG member having stayed at the Westin for many years. First time checking out the Renaissance last week for 3 nights and was pleasantly surprised. More so to the fact of the check in agent - I believe his name was Youssef?... A great first impression and made my wife and myself feel very welcome. I have stayed the Westin for probably 8+ years for maybe 30 stays as we just visit Vegas for pleasure. I can honestly say as a long time Plat member I have never been welcomed to the hotel all those years as we were when we arrived to the Renaissance - I know this probably does not happen all the time but kudos to this employee as he just gained a new customer!

I've got a two-week stay here coming up next month. When I booked it through Concur there was no mention of a resort/amenity fee anywhere. I hope I can weasel out of this b.s. fee being lifetime Plat. The average nightly rate is good but even though the fee is not that expensive, it puts the nightly rate at the higher end.

My corporate rate here includes wifi and self-parking anyway. It even says so on the rate quote from marriott.com

Have a stay here and Westin booked for end of the month for 3 days. Are they still waiving the resort fees for Plat here at the Renaissance?

Well I just called and they said they do not waive it. Depending on if they do or not, the Marriott down the street is cheaper than the Renaissance. Currently Titanium.

At the time of my visit in Spring '18, the garage was wide open for anyone to self-park. There is also a valet service, which I believe may be complimentary, but the line at the time of my stay was at least 15 cars long, with only two working attendants..

That was almost a year ago. Do you have recent update re: self-parking & if it's waived? Posts above yours suggests it's not & perhaps they've implemented a way of tracking it.

Cheers.

I stay there every other month or so... Some times the garage is unattended and sometimes it isn't (as weird as that sounds). When it's unattended I just go park without issue. I suspect it has to do with when there is a convention going on... They always credit the resort fee for me though...

Any recent stays with information regarding the usual for Platinum Elites and above?
  • Upgraded room success?
  • Resort fees waived? If so, are amenities still given (monorail passes, daily drinks, whatever else)?
  • Quality and offerings of lounge?
And overall, thoughts on the hotel for a leisure stay and not attending the convention center?

These questions remain timely at year-end.

I've stayed here for work about 20 nights this year. Never been upgraded (as far as I can tell) but also have never tried using suite night upgrades. In my opinion, this is one of the better Renaissance hotels I've stayed at but the lounge is one of the worst. I usually get drink coupons at checkin but the last time I got monorail tickets was I think in spring 2019. Not an ideal for leisure travel, but I like not being on the strip or having to walk through a casino when I travel for work.
