Question: Marriott Packaged Deals and purchasing additional items?

Last month, I got an Amex offer for a $100 credit on a $250+ Marriott spend.

I wasn't going to use it, but many properties sell packages that include additional points, food, tickets etc to upsell the customer.

I needed a cheap airport hotel, close to MSP, and booked

Residence Inn Bloomington, MN

They have a packaged rate that includes a $50 Uber gift card and 20% pantry items.

My plan is to ask the property if they will sell me a second Uber gift card. Otherwise, I'll plan to buy $55 of snacks/frozen food from their small store and bill it to my room.

I'll have a little Marriott Mukbang.

Obviously, buying a second gift card is easier.

Has anyone booked similar packages and asked the property to sell them an additional ticket, bottle of wine because of necessity or some other reason ?

Or you could find a property selling Marriott gift cards and buy one for $250.

Just triple check the hotel qualifies, so you dont get stuck with buying all that stuff and not get the 100

Thanks for the reminder.

I checked the terms and should be OK.

It seems odd that Amex/Marriott are excluding many of the upper-scale brands for lower and mid-tier properties.
