Ritz-Carlton Maldives Fari Island : Staff allegedly rapes Chinese Tourist
Just stumbled upon this on Twitter thread about a Chinese tourist being raped by a butler at Ritz Maldives, absolutely baffling if true.

Thanks for posting the links here, I don't have the required posts to do thay yet. Yes, it has been picked up by some smaller outlets, nothing in mainstream media yet. However, even more surprising, nothing from Marriott or Ritz PR yet, they are getting hammered on twitter.

Rape on a 26-year-old Chinese Female guest by Butler on June 6 reported, as of June 20th, the Chinese Consulate at Maldives have being notified and responded via email to press.

Absolutely awful news - returned a few weeks ago from an amazing stay at this hotel and the Aris Meeha that has been accused was one that we had for our last day while ours had a day off and had met several times previously. Like others have said the seeming lack of response by the hotel or Marriott is pretty poor.

I will point out here that the claim is that the same day as check in the guest "splashed water into my phone" leading to the rape later that day but then also states that the accused Aris Meeha was watching her sleep the previous night which do not seem to both be possible. I am not making any judgment either way on what has happened here, but this will be one of the inconsistencies in the account that the police will need to look into for this to be a fair investigation and not just a lynching by way of social media.
