Titanium Bonvoy, no upgrade, gift, mention of status at check in
I just checked into a Luxury Collection property and it was not smooth.
I had to wait for quite some time to check in even though it is not busy here and then although I had replied to an email from the hotel about my arrival and room requests, none seem to have been noted.
I do not seem to have received an upgrade in any way, shape, or form, and no mention of a gift of points or amenity (breakfast is already included in my rate) was made. I would prefer some recognition as opposed to the $100 compensation.
I did not check in on the app.
I am Titanium Elite and this is a paid stay booked directly on marriott.com .
I would appreciate it if a lurker would reach out to me about this.
Thanks.

If I wrote a thread for how many times i received none of what the OP is complaining about I would probably 'own' every thread under the Marriott FT front page.

This.
OP, non-recognition is the norm these days. You need to adjust your expectations.
I have earned status (not via credit card) with Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt. Hyatt is the only one with consistent recognition.
I don't really care either way, but it is appreciated from Hyatt.

It's one thing to appreciate great service; it's another thing to complain if you get just good (not great) service. This applies to anything, not just to Titanium Bonvoys at Luxury Collection hotels.
If you are entitled to upgrades and special amenities as part of your status, then by all means ask when you check in. Heck, you can ask nicely even if you're not entitled to them. But if you're just accustomed to special favors, I'd say consider yourself lucky when you get them and don't complain when you don't.
That's just my opinion, with no offense intended.

I'm still so surprised (and terrified
) by this differences between US and Europe elite recognition.....
Shouldn't they give better training to hotel mangers, in order to enforce Bonvoy rules?!
