Double charged resort fee?

Am I correct in believing I was double charged resort fees for a recent stay? Two nights, four resort fee (and tax) charges. Also, the resort fee taxes - are those different tax charges the same thing, just stated a different way or actually two different taxes for the same amount?
I made the mistake of checking out on the app instead of looking over my bill at the desk. Lesson learned!

Yup - looks like hotel double charged you for the fee and tax. Location/name? You'll likely have to call to try to get it fixed... wonder how much time you'll have to waste doing that.

Must be part of Marriott's new feature to rip guests off even more for the junk fees.

Just use TEXTNOW app, free USA calling.

I recently had same issue in stay in Toronto too. Night manager tried to argue it was a legit charge, without explaining how it was legit lol. Ended up having to call again and talk to a different manager to sort out. Horrible experience.

Makes you wonder how many double charged junk fees that the hotel keeps from unsuspecting guests. And since the property is inside Reedy Creek Improvement District, the double junk fee taxes now flow to the new Central Florida Control Board.

Just to make sure, you didn't have two rooms on your reservation, right?

Love hearing what wonderful "benefits" one gets for a resort fee - and $40 is on the higher end. Mind sharing what wonderful perks you got for that? (Need to add I've had some that actually did have tangible benefits.)

If you initiate a reservation on Marriott.com, it shows one $40 resort fee per night for 1 room with 2 guests. The actual bill should match the reservation price. The only exception is if local taxes changed between when the reservation was made and the actual stay.

There are some genuine benefits for guests staying and the Swan Reserve, such as boat & bus transportation. There are walkways from the WDW Swan and Dolphin complex to two Disney parks. There is no reason these features of the hotel should be broken out as a mandatory fee that all guest must pay, instead of just being part of the room rate (and earning points).

Thank you. I contacted the hotel over the weekend and they said they could see the double charge and would be escalating it to their superior. If I don't hear back within a week with the updated bill that was promised, I'll email you.
Thanks again!

Thank you for naming. I'm staying there next month. I'll make sure to check the bill at checkout.

I hope it's an easy resolution for you.
