JW Marriott Jeju Resort and Spa, South Korea [Master Thread]
Probably the best Marriott property in South Korea with an awesome sense of place. A lot of Korean influences around the property. The team took their time and the owners seem a lot more patient (to open) than the Chinese led Lotte Tour consortium at Grand Hyatt Jeju. That 1600 room casino hotel monstrosity doesn't hold a candle to this 198 room, 28 suite boutique-ish resort.
They are currently doing pre-opening meals at various outlets and testing select rooms. Opening seems to be late March or April 2023.

The hotel shows as open for bookings today, March 28. The two nights I'm considering show at 63K points per night. They cannot be booked online, only with a phone call. I called reservations; they can't book it, it has to be booked directly with the hotel. I'm not confident that the hotel can book with points. When the agent put me on hold to call the hotel, I was cut off. I then tried to call the hotel. My call went unanswered.

Douglas Kim is the GM. Try reaching out via email and I'm sure he'll make your reservation happen.

Does the hotel have an executive lounge? My husband is gold and has an award cert we could use there. But staying with his status would mean no lounge access. I am titanium and would use points if there is a lounge.

There's only a paid lobby lounge called 'the Lounge'. Use points when you can because the cash rates for this property are 1.15 to 1.35 million KRW ($890 to $1035 USD).

Points per night are ricocheting up and down. Friday night - high of 46K, low of 33K. Saturday night - high of 110K, low of 63K. Oddly, when I checked earlier today, the Friday night was the low number i just gave, whereas the Saturday night was the high number.

Korean Marriott members are booking en masse. It is/was one of the best point redemptions in the country.
