JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge [Master Thread]

Didn't see a thread yet, so thought I would start one. Long time lurker

Looks like rates have opened up starting April 1st, 2023 at around $2,300 (prepay) a night for AI.

Excited to see Marriott get into safari lodges, hoping this property does well.

Seems to have seasonal pricing, some dates come up as $1,628. Looks promising to see it in a similar range as Al Maha. Curious to see how popular the property ends up getting considering the driving logistics involved. I intend to visit in 2024.

Actually they have incredible Bonvoy value now that seem to go from April through January. 20-25K points per night for two people all inclusive. Thats on a room rate of $2500+. Including during the great migration.

Do you think they will honor these rates? Put in a couple of bookings. Hope one sticks.

The only red flag on this place..the rooms are tents and don't appear to have AC.

That's fine. Most safari lodges/camps don't have AC. I stayed at one during my honeymoon last year and was incredibly comfortable even with the fans. Can't speak about how it would be during the summer months though.

Haha seems like we posted at the same time. Insane value and unsure if they'd honor it. You can potentially book an upgraded Executive room for the same price in points.

YIKES no award bookings available now. I wonder if they will cancel existing bookings

Looking at the cash calendar view, you can see many blocks of 5 nights being sold out. Lol. There's no way it sticks if their entire hotel is sold out due to cheap points bookings.

Due to the elevation it’s not actually that hot. A lot of times Masai Mara is 25-12 degrees C. Need fleeces and gloves for early morning safaris.
