Update status on current reservation

guys - how long does it take after receiving a credit card with 15 elite nights for Marriott to update status to gold? Also, will the hotel be able to update my new status and hopefully lead to an upgrade? Resevation has already been made with my non-elite status

Thanks

With the Amex Brilliant card my additional nights were added within a two days of approval. As soon as the nights post your status will change.

The hotel will be able to see your current status at any given time. I dont believe it matters that it was booked at a lower status. In my experience upgrades will be visible in app 2-3 days ahead of arrival, or will be granted at checkin. It never hurts to ask at checkin for an upgrade.

Congratulations on reaching gold elite status! While upgrades are certainly possible, keep your expectations low. Platinum and Titanium members frequently don't get upgrades. As a gold member, an occasional upgrade should be considered a nice surprise. YMMV....

Is this link valid - it shows Free breakfast for gold elite at Le Meridien if I'm reading it right

No, breakfast is only included for Platinum and above at Le Meridian.

Just ensure you check on check-in as when I changed to Platinum none of the benefits moved over for existing reservations and they were expecting a Gold member arriving.

I almost always had a small bump in my rooms as a Gold member, though I would always drop a polite message on the app on the day of check-in asking if any upgrades were available. Usually a higher floor/larger room (don't be expecting suites or anything!)

Is free breakfast for everybody on the reservation? The room capacity is 2 adults + 1 kid which is what we have
Also I just got a card that gives me 25 nights, if I land up getting 50 more nights with Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card, does that put me on Titanium elite with75 nights?

I think the terms are member plus one guest where kid may not qualify for free breakfast. But I think it depends on the hotel how closely they enforce it the terms.

interesting so even if member books two rooms on the same reservation, its just member + 1 guest?

Benefits apply to the members guest room as per T&Cs. Additional rooms are just eligible for earning points.
