Separate properties?
Prolly a stupid question, but presumably properties such as the JWM Khao Lak Resort and Spa and its “nestled” JWM Khao Lak Resort Suites are considered separate for eligible nights/points/stays accrual, despite sharing the same physical complex and brand? Since each has its own search entry and website when booking on Marriott Bonvoy?

You're asking whether you would receive a new welcome bonus of 1000 points and get the current 2000 promo points per stay (+ possible 2000 points for each brand if you've got a Marriott credit card - though as they're both JW I think the answer to the brand bonus is clearly "no") by making two separate reservations and relocating from a room in the regular hotel to the suite hotel?
I think the lack of response here means you'll have to phone the hotel and put it to them. You will only get guesses here. My guess is "no". But could easily be wrong. Phone the hotel if it's important to you.

For example, a Bonvoy member would be able to book and earn points for up to 3 rooms in the same property at the same time. But are the JWM Khao Lak Resort and Spa and the JWM Khao Lak Resort Suites in fact one and the same? From a cursory glance at Google Maps, this seems to be the case: the Resort Suites seems to be in the same complex as the original Resort and Spa and in fact seems to be merely an all Suite wing of the latter; on their (separate!) websites, they both seem to have the same photo of what appears to be the shared main lobby of the hotel(s), have the same restaurants on their websites, same spa...
Yet each property has its own separate entry in Marriott's booking engine, its own separate Marriott website, its own physical address and its own fixed main line number, all of which to my mind indicates that administratively, operationally and for all intents and purposes they are indeed separate and distinct properties. On the main page of the Resort Suites website, there's also no reference whatsover that it resides in the Resort Suites complex, or that it's indeed part of the Resorts Suite complex. Being different properties might be advantageous say in promos emphasising stays in different hotels...
I dunno. Personally, I think this is best answered by Marriott Bonvoy rather than the properties themselves. Perhaps the Lurkers can provide clarification. Surely this cannot be the first such occurence in the Bonvoy system (or pre-merger Starriott). Or maybe I'm just overthinking it.
