Points on a Cash and Points Stay?

Points on a Cash and Points Stay?
I recently had a Cash and Points stay. While I received my five nights credit, I didn't receive any other points for the stay (cash part) or my spend at the hotel. Am I supposed to get points on this type of stay?

Members will not receive points for Cash and Points reservations. You may earn points on qualified incidental spend during the stay.
