Apparently Puff the Magic Dragon showed up in the middle of the night as two waffle makers with all necessary items were in place at 6:30 am this morning.
I ignore waffles on flying trips, but carry a special ingredient with me on driving trips. I like the convenience of walking no further than the lobby after taking my dog for a walk.
And, if it matters, my assistant asked a series of questions about COVID policies (i.e. masks, social distance, cleaning procedures and sanitizer stations) in addition to food, location of preferred rooms, elite benefits, and pool access.

The last time I was in a Waffle House was in AL or MS and they still allowed...smoking. Blech. But love your range - never been to PS but have TFL.

I had bacon last month at a RI (SEA) but it was only a one-night stay so don't know if they have it every day. No waffles though. Just scrambled eggs. Plated by someone, you could not take your own. And the bacon was pretty good, not that see-through stuff you sometimes get at lower end places.

I asked when I checked in and was told waffles were off in the future despite several requests.
I asked the cook staff this morning and they said the waffle maker was here waiting to be put to use. I was driving so used to app chat to ask for a status update.
The manager who was not here said they are waiting on those juice size cups and a plastic fork? I cannot talk directly to him or her until tomorrow, but am curious about such a response.
Do I just need to move on or would others who follow appreciate me talking directly to the manager?

Bacon in the rotation (with turkey Canadian bacon and several types of sausage and/or sausage patties) was part of the RI preCOVID-19 brand standard, but even then some RIs ignored this and offered nothing but sausage.

I do recall that. We spent 5 nights in Manhattan once and it was sausage every day, we asked and was told it was brand standard. Apparently not.

Never heard of per Se, but Waffle House is great if youre driving through Florida and not looking for anything pretentious. Give me a pecan waffle and some of their hash browns (without anything on them), and Im happy for breakfast!

I haven't had an RI stay in 2021. I've had a couple Hampton/Fairfield/HIX type stays on our summer roadtrips, 1 night at a time, and the breakfast offerings have generally sucked. No covid-related executive orders that would limit them - just management decision to offer almost nothing since brand standards don't matter anymore and all of these properties are racing to the bottom.
In the future, if I need an RI type layout, I will probably try Airbnb first. The value prop for these kinds of branded hotels has dropped a lot in the past year.
