Elite status expiration was extended one year?

Not sure if this has been asked before - if it has my apologies and please do point me in the right direction...

When looking at my account I get the following:

For 2019 Elite status earners: As previously announced, your Elite status expiration was extended one year to February 2022. To help you get to the next Elite level faster, we have deposited 50% of the required Elite Night Credits for your 2019 Elite status into your account.

So, I just re-qualified for Gold a few days ago. Does this mean my Elite Status is still valid until Feb 2022 or is it extended one additional year to Feb 2023?

The fact that you "re-qualified" is basically irrelevant, since you already had your status extended until February 2022. You do not get any extra status time.

For now until 2022 only. However since it doesn't look much better for 2021 I don't think it's impossible that Marriott will offer some sort of Elite night credit or extension again, at least for those who qualified this year.

I apologize if this has been discussed in another thread. If I earn a higher status this year (Plat) than the one earned in 2019 (Gold), would Plat status be good through Feb 2022 or 2023? TIA.

You would be Platinum through Feb 2022 rather than Gold whether or not you organically earned Gold in 2020.
