If I recall, mine took about two or three days during the mad rush of people applying. It should be less than that now.

Did not receive such email both times. I should have received one? :eek: I did not know that. This times I took a screenshot after submitted that says submission is succesful though.

I don't remember receiving an email after submitting the status match but i did get a confirmation when it's accepted with the dates.

Back on Sept 3rd I received an email letting me know they received my documents and will be notified in 10 days if its successful.

Just want to update, got Platinum today, just in time for my coming stays. :):tu:
PS. No email whatsoever though, just happened to check and notice the status has changed.

This is true but pure speculation. History has shown that as of now, they have not. I'm taking the gamble. I doubt I will have status with any other hotels in the near future anyways as I can't get 50 stays at any hotel. My current status comes via credit card spend and many credit cards are going away from being MS friendly.

I signed up for the status match and got a decline email. It didn't give much detail as to why other than incomplete or illegible. Calling Customer Service was no help. He just suggested that I reapply. I used a screenshot of my loyalty card from the app and an invoice from a stay earlier this year. Does it matter if the stay was paid in points?

I was given platinum status some weeks ago and have stayed at one property so far for 3 nights. Before then, I never stayed at any Marriot Hotels while a bonvoy member. I have several more stays coming up to meet the 15 night requirement. But, I have a question (not sure where to post it), does anyone know the best time to check-in on the app to give you a better chance of an upgrade or at least a better floor, etc??? I know with hilton I always wait until they upgrade me or just ask at the front desk and never check-in online unless they already upgraded me or I know the hotel will be booked full and I need to select a room sooner than later. So, should I wait until my check-in date to check-in on the app or just show up and see if they will upgrade me in person? Thanks.

I don’t ever check in through the app. I ask for an upgrade through the app chat when it pops up a couple of days before the stay. Failing that, you can ask for an upgrade when you check in, in person.

Using my approach of asking in the app, I’ve had an upgrade to a suite in six of my last seven stays (probably could have made it seven but I was going to be spending six hours in the room before a flight).
