Partial payment before checking out for AmEx Offer???

Thank you all for your help!

Currently staying at a Residence Inn, checking out on 12/29, worried that AmEx charge at checkout for $300 may not post soon enough for offer expiring on 12/31 if made at check-out. Is there a way to "pre-pay" $300 for the room before checkout? If so, what words should I tell the lobby person to make such magic happen?

Thanks!

Ive partially settled bills through stays before. Usually just say I want to settle what I can now so theres no hassle later or it hits my statement before next billing cycle.

could always tell the truth and say you have an offer and want to use it so can you bill you $x now.

but usually in uk as long as its charge before the day its fine for the offer doesnt have to be fully transacted before the date.

Do you already have charges of at least $300 on your folio? If so, you can just come by the front desk and ask to make a $300 payment on your account. If you dont have those charges already incurred, not sure if you can easily pre-pay. Of course, you can pre-pay at booking time if its for an upcoming stay.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience re pre-paying and how offers generally work in the UK.

In reality, my guess is I'll be fine if the charge is on the 29th, but I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks for your comment.

Good point re $300 - I don't have it yet.

I'm a little confused re pre-payments. I've recently stayed at 2 Hilton properties - one let me put an extra charge the day before check-out for an amex offer, the other one actually billed my card on the very day of check-in (before any charges were on my folio, and the charge was not just a hold but actually posted with that date also).

Thanks!
