Strange Loss Prevention Notice Slipped Under Door. Anyone get this?

Anyone get one of these before? Seems like they've had security issues or something.

Odd. Never heard of "loss prevention" outside of brick and mortar retail.

But it looks like there's nothing to be concerned about here. I would just chuck the note in the recycling bin.

They are reassuring you that when someone ships a pipe bomb to the hotel, they will intercept it.

And warning you to resist stealing the soap dish.

I stayed at this property a couple weeks ago and got the same notice under the door on my last day. No idea why. I didn’t send or receive any packages during my stay. (Maybe to discourage people stealing the robe?!)

None of the second paragraph makes any sense at all. Who exactly are "hosts?" What in God's name does organizational development have to do with loss prevention?

Note to the writers: "Service" as a verb is extremely awkward here. As in porn awkward.

Were I at this hotel I'd march downstairs, get a F2F with the GM, and say "Do you know what your people are slipping under doors?"

I wonder if this group is planning a strike and just trying to drum up awareness.

Would you really? That seems a bit excessive for a meaningless price of paper that shouldn’t have caused more than a couple of seconds of wasted time and is easily tossed aside as mentioned above. I mean to each his/her own but if I were the GM I’d have a hard time not laughing at that response.

If I were the GM I would have a hard time explaining this exquisite piece of nonsense appearing under guests doors. It makes no sense. I would definitely ask what this is all about and let the GM know that even FTer's can't figure this one out!

I was thinking either that or they're trying to justify an exorbitant ($10-20+/each) "package handling" fee, or something?

They lost me at 'select team of professionals'...adding a bit of fluff to their job descriptions.

The first scenario that came to mind is the Portland Doubletree situation with that 'select team of professionals'.

Its a waste of paper to say the least.

I wonder if they offer a Platinum discount on bodyguard services for local nightclubs.

This is a very College Park thing to see happen...equal parts trashy and nonsensical. Definitely checks out.

That's what I thought, too. But it seems like they're giving up a ton of profit on such a fee with the wasted paper & printing costs for these curious notices, plus paying someone to slip this under the door of every guest every night...

I can't tell if this is meant as a threat, or some bizarre form of reassurance.
