My guess is Chinese - it can be the same word in Chinese for either Doubt or Suspect.

I also doubt it very much there is Indian language site the OP read about the cancellations similar to his. Chinese sites about Marriott and chain hotels in general? There are tons of them! Take Flyertea, the equivalent of Flyertalk, has a very active Marriott forum.

so far in my working experiences with Indian from India (Bangalore, Pune) - IT fields , they do use doubt a lot as a replacement for 'question/clarification'. eg. I have some doubt about this item, can you explain it further?

But good points on the Chinese forums, especially with the fact that they are selling marriott plat/hh diamond freely in taobao.
So some hotels might scrutiny guests from there further

How can anybody sell elite status? How does it work? And why not sell Marriott Ambassador or Titanium rather than Plat?

This thread has run its course. If anyone has any specific questions/comments/reviews of the Al Maha resort they can find information in the Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa, Dubai [Master Thread]
