Got notified for our upcoming stay the pool will be closed for maintenance, while guests can use "the swimming pool in the next building on 36th floor." Does anyone know how this alternate pool compare to the hotel pool? I asked the hotel but haven't heard back. The rooftop pool pool and bar is the reason we booked here, so its closure is disappointing (I assume the entire rooftop is closed).

The "next building" could mean the same building, but not part of the Four Points. There are two pools on the roof, separated by a wall and locked door. I think the other pool is for residences or a different hotel.

Stayed here 2 nights on points, as Platinum.
  • Highlight was the elite breakfast. The breakfast staff AND food were phenomenal. They knew our Platinum status as soon as we mentioned our room #. Private room was proactively offered. Was debating between that and ocean-facing seats in the main room but glad we took it. Excellent chill playlist and considerably less noisy than main room even when the latter was only 20% full on day 1. On day 2, it got much more crowded, I'd guess 90% full, but the private room continued to receive impeccable service. The food highlight is the a la carte menu, free for elites. I tried the waffle, pho, Bo Ne, and braised beef. The first 3 were fantastic. Buffet was OK. Highly recommended by order from the menu. Again, the staff was extremely kind. I asked if they had egg coffee (more of a thing in Hanoi), they didn't. A few minutes later, the chef stopped by with egg coffee for us! They made us salted coffee the next day.
  • I agree with GoSh4rks the hardware isn't on par with Westin or JW. Now, we did come from the IC Danang which is in a totally different league, but I was legit horrified upon arrival by the first sight of the somewhat tired lobby full of tour group-type guests. They did proactively upgrade us to a corner suite on the 7th floor. It was a bit low (there are 36 floors) but had good ocean view; the street noise was considerable though. It had a balcony facing the ocean BUT with no furniture AND lots of cracks etc, very unsightly; we never used it. Still, great room overall, and nice to get an upgrade. Love Asia.
  • The 4P pool is closed until late March, but as discussed upthread, access is given to the pool of the other hotel (Altara Suites) in the same building, so it's right next to the 4P pool separated by a door. The 4P pool is definitely more swanky - it's all ocean facing with "floating pods" whereas the Altara pool is mostly city-facing and no floating pods, but most distracting is the big eyesore directly in front of the Altara pool - a future Holiday Inn under construction. However, we did see a magnificent sunset from Altara pool. It's good enough, but I expect the 4P pool would be better.
  • There's free popcorn in the lobby from 5-7pm (daily?). It was very memorable, I was sad to enjoy that on only one of the days.

Overall a good stay. Elite recognition was very good. They need to take better care of the property though - it's deteriroating fast.

We stayed there last week for 5 nights.

All that Italdesign said about the breakfast is true.
I'm only Gold Elite but they still offered us a separate room for breakfast. Unfortunately, it was full on 2 days; one day we ate in the main room, and one day they told us the separate room was available maybe 5 minutes after we sat down in the main room.
The only disappointing food was the melons, they were either hard or not sweet at all. The cook at the egg station was very friendly, greeting me every day and making some small talk.
From the menu you can see in the picture posted by italdesign, my wife tried the Healthy Toast, Morning Salad, Beef Pho and Waffle. Everything was good, only the waffles were a little bit hard. I tried the Egg Benedict and Xiu Mai Meatballs, and both were good. All in all OK but nothing special.
They also offered mimosa free of charge in the separate dining room.

The ocean-facing pool on the Four Points top floor is now open and was very nice with an ocean view. We used it almost every day before breakfast at 7am.

We stayed in an ocean-view room on the 27th floor, contrary to italdesign's room, the balcony was without any cracks and we used it to dry our beach sandals.

If you are not used to traffic in Asia, it's a little bit scary to cross the road in front of the hotel to reach the beach, especially if you are going together with a child.

One day before check-out I asked the front desk if it was possible to checkout at 2 pm the following day. The staff replied as a Gold Elite member this is complimentary.
I was worried because she didn't even check my room number, so I asked again another staff the next morning and after checking she said it was possible and she had to re-program our room keys for the late checkout.

The only annoying point during our stay was the towels in the room. We booked the room for 3, but only received 2 bath towels and I had to remind them daily to bring an additional towel.

Excellent Elite Benefits

Stayed at this property twice totalling a week in December 2023. Overall I would have to say a very excellent (and cheap) choice while in Da Nang.

As a Lifetime Titanium Guest, both times were upgraded to their corner suite with fantastic views of the sea.

Also received complimentary sweets from the GM on both of my stays.

As a welcome amenity, Plat and up can choose buffet breakfast as well as ala carte on their restaurant. Breakfast starts from 6:00 - 10:30 A.M. Quite impressed with their buffet options for a Four Points. And you get Mimosa, ice cream, eggs benedict, etc. exclusively for eligible elites only.

All members also get a 10% discount at their restaurant on the 36th floor. Really good Pho...

Beef Pho for about 10$

The vast majority of the staffs (especially those working at the restaurant and breakfast) were really friendly and nice. I have to agree with a previous poster though that a few front desk agents were a bit off.

However, such an excellent stay and was quite surprised that they have seen and complied with my special requests during my Ambassador days. Extra feather pillows, extra water, etc. etc. None of my special requests were done during my Ambassador days but this one (and Renaissance Hoi An) did as a Lifetime Titanium Guest.

Having been to 106 countries, this is the Best 4P I've been stayed at.

You really have such positive opinions about this hotel, I tend to agree with the Tripadvisor max rating. it is 3 stars hotel.
No contact with management, booking agents reject requests to provide contact information to the Director of Rooms, IT Manager or Service Guest Manager.
Is this some secret organization that they stay hidden from the guests??

Upgrade only to the same room but on a higher floor ;) but they can send an offer of paid upgrade to suites 5 days in advance.
Heavily used interiors, worn edges of furniture and handles. This hotel is not my vibe.

Just spent two nights here an generally agree with the above posts that this is a decent option in Danang. At the end of the day, this is still a Four Points, but the elite treatment is what makes it stand out. If I were a non-elite staying in a regular room I would probably feel more like this is just an average hotel.

Good:
  • Upgraded to corner suite ocean view on the 33rd floor. Nice room with a great view of the 'strip' and beach. Welcome snacks in the room upon arrival. Plenty of complimentary bottled water in the room, can't really complain.
  • The breakfast is decent, again because of the elite treatment. On our first morning we were at breakfast early (6:30am) and were not given the private room treatment, so I was not particularly impressed. They still brought a small fruit salad with yogurt, a bottle of fresh juice, and a a la carte menu to our table but I must have missed the part about all that being due to elite status, so I didn't think much of it. In any case we were in a rush to eat so didn't really mind but did leave thinking breakfast was just average. The selection is pretty limited and quite Korean influenced. However on the second day we got the private room which was away from the hustle of all the tour groups and families with much better service, and the result was a really great breakfast experience which I've not had at a Four Points before. Without the elite treatment, I'd say the breakfast at FP KL Chinatown is better in terms of variety and quality.
  • Pool is great with excellent views, and those "pods" seen in the hotel photography where you can sit and have a drink. Happy hour in the afternoons/evenings for the pool bar, buy one get one.
  • Staff were all generally friendly and helpful. Late checkout offered on arrival, chose 3pm and there was no issue extending that to 4pm later.
Neutral
  • The elevators are sloooow. Even though there's four of them, a 5 minute wait was not uncommon. One night we came back just after a tour bus arrived and it was a 15 minute wait for an elevator.
  • What is it with the flashing lights on the fire sensors on the roof in Vietnam hotel rooms? They're quite bright in a dark room. Nothing an eye mask can't fix but you'd think they could find a less "flashy" solution for hotel rooms (this property was not the only one I encountered this)
  • There's not a lot immediately around the hotel, so it's a 5-10 minute walk to any restaurants or convenience stores, but access to the beach is easy and grab/taxi easily available, we never waited more than 2-3 minutes for a grab car to arrive.

This card was in the room advising about breakfast traffic, however we found it quite the opposite. When we went for breakfast at 630am on a Friday it was barely half full. However the next day we went at 8:30am and the place was full.

There was nothing I can think of which was bad or negative about the stay. Given the price point and the fact they go out of their way to make elites feel welcome, it's hard to not recommend. Just keep your expectations in check, this is a Four Points after all.

My colleague is currently spending five nights there. He is so disappointed with the management, who basically ignore his emails and keep misleading him, that he is planning to check out and move to another hotel. Nothing has changed there regarding the treatment of Bonvoy members or communication with management since my stay.
They do not inform guests about facade cleaning or balcony railing painting. They promised him a suite on April 22, saying it would be available, but when they packed today their belongings and were ready to move, they were told they had misunderstood and that the suite would only be available on April 24—just for the last night, so there’s really no point in packing and moving at all.

add. As an apology regarding the suite, they offered my friend and his wife a free massage for ONE person. What a fantastic way to treat a hotel guest ;)))
