I did my first Amex Membership Rewards transfer directly to Marriott recently. Points posted today and they are coded as a "bonus". The amount looks correct, but I wonder if there are any implications from this bonus category for MR transfers?

I don't see why they would. All points (other than points transfers from SPG to Marriott, which AFAIK are no longer possible) count toward lifetime points (if you're chasing legacy Marriott lifetime status that way), and I don't see what other implication it would have.

My transfer around the end of August not only posted as "bonus" but had some bogus description which had nothing to do with American Express. But again it don't see why it would matter.
