This is great news. I can live with the reduced earnings if it comes with 15 EQNs. This year I managed only 35 nights as I split my stays with Hilton (40 nights for Gold) but that would have got me kosher Platinum with such a card (I should still keep Platinum this year, owing to soft landing from Titanium).

I used to have the SPG card till the integration shambles made me decide to drop it, but I generally only used it in MAR/SPG hotels. As this will stay pay 6 points (allegedly) for Bonvoy properties, I won't really lose anything.

Definitely agree, I will not probably get the free night anymore but thats not the biggest loss in the world!

I'll think about it over the next few months - got an 8 night stay coming up in Feb, so after that will decide what I do. The 6 points per £ on this stay will be nice, but struggling to see the value for me personally going forward.

For those of us currently holding the Creation issued Mastercard which comes with 10 EQNs annually the 15 nights from the new AMEX card if allowed to combine would be halfway to platinum.

Looks like the sign up bonus is going down too. 20,000 for spending 3K in 3 months rather than 30,000 for spending 1K in 3 months

I wouldn't hope for that. In the US that doesn't work if you have both Amex and the MC bonvoy card, all you get is 15 nights.

It would be much better if the upgrade to gold at 15k points was the nights credits making the next upgrade simpler! If this was the case it would be a definite for me.

They're taking the mick with a change like that. No incentive to put this card in your wallet unless you're visiting a Bonvoy place.

I'll treat it merely as a cheap way of getting 15 EQNs.

Very disappointed with the changes to the card. It's a huge cut in the earning rate. The 15 night credits have no value to me. I'll likely cancel the card at the end of February.

Will the 15 EQN drop into your account shortly after acceptance? This benefit could be useful, however I will not know until nearer the year end if I could use the 15 EQN to requalify for Plat.

Four weeks now since my application at Amex uk was accepted and still no 15 EQN on my Bonvoy account. Terms says it can take up to 60 days before they post so waiting a little bit longer then...

I'm almost up to 14 weeks now and counting. Marriott say it needs to be done by AMEX and AMEX keep blaming Marriott.

Now going through as a formal complaint with AMEX.

Maybe worth dropping a PM to one of the lurkers also? Or else send a Tweet to MarriottBonvoyAssist. Those are the ways I usually get things resolved if I'm getting nowhere with the Bonvoy helpdesk.
