AmEx UK Bonvoy Card [General Discussion Thread]

Is anyone else having problems with the UK Amex points not appearing? Ive now had two batches of points sweep from the card since the merger and nothing has appeared on my SPG account.

I have spoken to SPG customer service and they say it is because Amex are using the old SPG number. Amex confirmed that they have not been told the new number by SPG and offered to change the number on their system but that doesnt seem to have helped the second batch of points.

Yes, exactly the same situation - please let me know if you find a solution.

I also note that pre-merger the Marriott website was implying that UK credit cards would be relaunched with better benefits but none of that seems to be happening either.

It would be nice to get a Visa card back again for Marriott given so many of the promos seem to involve paying with a Visa based card where currently the UK (Marriott) credit card is a Mastercard based one.

Oh - one weird thing to note, I earned my free night certificate from the card last week which went straight into my new Marriott account so they are linked somehow, but the points are still AWOL.

I have an ongoing issue with SPG points from AMEX posting to merged account at a 1:1 ratio. This should have been 1:3 as they were accrued pre merger. I have rung up - to be met with the worst SPG customer service (basically computer says no) and then asked to have it escalated (received a call back) only for absolutely nothing to come of it. Have now emailed twice and still no response. Missing around 27k marriott points.....

I also spent 1hr20mins on the phone being bounced around and waiting.... not impressed

2 sweeps also not appeared in my new account. Emailing AMEX no longer an option on the website. I used to find that feature quite useful.
I will temporary stop using the card until the points posting is resolved

I guess the new benefits promised is 3 times the amount of points per spent!!

I did use the Marriott MC a couple of weeks ago and the points posted into my new SPG account which i did not expect given the AMEX issue

Same here. No points posting from the UK Amex.

Any suggestions? Hugely frustrating.

Same here, no points seen in my account from July, August or September statements.

There were previously line items in my Marriott account, reflecting the number of points I was owed each month but no actual points showing in my account.
Now even those indicative line items are gone.

Missing points from AMEX due early August and early September, total 22,000. AMEX confirm they’ve been sent but are now recalling them and have taken my Marriott number for October’s points due to credit next week. I’m not holding my breath, but at least AMEX have taken some action...

I asked Starwood Lurker on another thread. He confirmed that it is a known problem with the UK cards and being worked on. So it sounds like the points will appear - just not sure when.

Missing points from UK SPG Amex

Hi,

I have the UK SPG Amex.

I am missing two statements of points, which have not posted since the merger.

How can I fix this? Are they going into a black hole of my old SPG numbered account I can no longer access since I merged them?

thanks

Both Marriott and UK American Express are aware of this issue and are working towards a fix. Once implemented, the points from both statements will be applied to your account. Unfortunately, we just don't know when that will happen.

Same Issue

Unfortunately, we just don't know when that will happen.
makes me think we wont be seeing them! No doubt if it was something like the booking system & costing them money (rather than giving out freebies) they would be at it 24/7 until its repaired. Yet as its a small minority, its way down the list to be fixed.
Will not be booking another SPG hotel again. Lost my loyalty.

I have a similar issue and it seems to state clearly in the terms and conditions the transfer happens 6 days before the statement date. I am wondering in this situation as a financial product is involved if a breach of UK law has occurred. I know Lloyds had serious issues when they had problems with transferring points to avios. I don't feel this is probably down to any fault with American Express but as the card issuer I would assume they have responsibility to ensure you receive the points you are entitled to and would be the first point of complaint.

Considering the fact many people (including myself) have points quite likely in the tens of thousand we are not able to spend and a limited time to do so on the 60k rates for the top properties my patience is certainly wearing thin on this. I know Marriott were originally saying not our issue its down to Amex but I believe in the last couple of weeks may have changed their tune somewhat!
