I've had some Your24 approvals in Alaska. The hotels seem accustomed to having airline crew arriving and leaving at all hours.

Delta St. John’s is a really good hotel that treats their guests well. I always find that when I go there I get a suite upgrade and if you have a late flight, they have no problem accommodating a checkout later than 4.

I was pleasantly surprised to get a Your24 request for 8pm to 8pm approved on a Saturday at the Sheraton Coconut Beach in Kauai last weekend.

I'm about to create another Your24 request in Amman which shouldn't be a problem in my opinion.

Had Your24 approved for 10am check-in/out at the LAX Marriott last week. (Front desk correctly still offered to extend a 4pm check-out which I declined.)
Also had Your24 approved for 10am check-in/out at the Sheraton Gateway FRA in a few weeks (crucial after a TATL morning arrival).
Recently all my Ambassador emails have been answered within 24 hours and they even helped me resolve a complaint at the Hotel Distil in Louisville (room type assigned didn't have the features of the room I booked -- hotel didn't care, but Ambassador desk said something and a manager called me and comped a night of the 3-night stay).

I have been pleasantly surprised by Ambassador perks in recent weeks.

I have never had a problem with an early check-in. In over a hundred requests over the years I can only recall getting 1 denial.

I've had problems with getting Your24 requests approved for evening check in/out. Most hotels in larger cities deny those.

Good to hear. St. Regis NYC denied a 12:00 noon check-in on my Your24 request last month.

NYC is the one city where I have never had a Your24 approval. I have never requested an early check-in but have requested early evening check-in/out multiple times. Every property has denied my request, even during low occupancy. One manager even admitted to me that they don't have housekeeping available in the evening to service the rooms so they deny all Your24 requests.

I just put in for 10am check-in at the Residence Inn Munich City East during Oktoberfest (I'm spending one night there on points after my TATL from the US before moving to Roomers for 3 nights). It was approved within hours. Others may not value the early check-in that much, but having it locked in when coming off a TATL overnight flight is pretty darn useful in my book.

That's really only an acceptable excuse if they are fully booked for the night and absolutely need to turn the room same-day.

I agree. But they just deny the benefit outright.

It’s not that we don’t appreciate it, but it’s very easy to get early check in without Ambassador status or Your24.

95% of the time, sure. But it's the 5% that ends up being a PITA when it's after a redeye.

If the hotel has a room available for early check in then they will offer it to an Ambassador guest regardless of whether you use Your24. If they don't have a room available then they will deny it whether you use Your24 or not. That is the reason I don't value using Your24 for an early check-in.

I have yet to encounter a situation where a hotel has denied a confirmed Your24 early check-in... has this happened to you? I would be livid. The day that happens is the day I no longer value Your24 for early check-in, that's for sure...

I think you misunderstood my post. I said that if the hotel has no availability then they will deny the Your24 request when you make it. If they have availability then they will let you check in early, whether you make the Your24 request or not.
