Rules for non expiration of points

Hello,

I would like to know if it is enough to buy points to keep active membership and not lose already gained points for a new 2 year period.

Hi vilntrav,

Purchasing points does count as account activity to keep your points from expiring. For more information on point expiration and qualifying activity, please feel free to visit our website here https://help.marriott.com/s/article/Article-22242 and here https://help.marriott.com/s/article/Article-23644

I hope you took a screenshot, so you can document exactly when you purchased the points.

Otherwise, you could get brutally BONVYed!

If the purchase occurred before your expiration date, there is no need to worry about it regardless of what the website/app says. If the points do mistakenly expire, it can be immediately reversed.

Logged into my account to check an upcoming reservation and then thought I'd check to see if a recent stay had posted (it had not). LTP, by the way.

On the "My Activity" screen, I noticed the following:Your points are about to expire.

Don't lose progress towards free nights and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Keep your points from expiring by earning or redeeming them on any qualifying activity by Feb 06, 2024.

Do this errors occur and should I be concerned? I've had credit card activity every month for months, a stay in December that credited, a stay in February that has not credited yet.

Or am I missing something, i.e. points that I earned prior to February 6, 2022 are now expiring because I may not have used those? I trust Marriott, IHG, etc. to keep track of my activity. Maybe I need to start doing so manuallly?

Thanks!

Never mind - I see this has been reported as a bug in the website thread. I did a screenshot of my current points balance.
