http://www.marriott.com/hotels/trave...-inner-harbor/
Category 6. Opens January 31 2017. Doesn't appear to have exec lounge.
"Situated in a historic building from 1904, the Delta Hotel by Marriott at Inner Harbor Baltimore has been reborn for the modern traveler seeking a seamless and effortless stay. Imbued with the spirit of Charm City, references to Baltimore’s most celebrated author, Edgar Allan Poe, are gently woven into the interior design.
Focused on creating a streamlined experience for our guests, we offer smart amenities like free, fast WiFi, premium bedding and towels, free bottled water throughout the hotel, and a full-service fitness center.
TellTale, our flagship restaurant, has a focused menu in the evening offering a really good salad or burger, plus craft beers and handmade cocktails. We also have a grab & go marketplace and a 24-hour elite pantry with continental breakfast items, premium beverages and snacks available for whenever you need them.
Conveniently located in Downtown Baltimore, just minutes from Inner Harbor, we’re near the Ravens Football Stadium, Baltimore Convention Center and the Edgar Allen Poe House. Urban Baltimore Hotel Near Baltimore Convention Center."
Charles Center Metro S/B is one block away
MARC Train Service is a three minute walk away
MTA Commuter Bus Line is just a few steps away
Baltimore Penn Station is only 1.5 miles away

It sounds interesting to have a 24 hour elite pantry instead of a lounge.

Is the stadium, convention center & EAP house in gangland?
After the property opens I'll call to find out what the scoop is re: exec lounge, if there actually is one, and if not, what they do for brekkie for elites.
Cheers.

Here's more about the Delta Hotels Baltimore Inner Harbor:
http://about.aimbridgehospitality.com/employers/264384
Unlike other Delta Hotels properties in the United States, this one is not a rebranding, although it makes use of "a historic building built in 1904."
Perhaps the branding was based on Marriott-affliated full-service hotels already in downtown Baltimore: Baltimore Marriott Waterfront, Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards, and Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel.
With the Delta Hotels brand, the hotel owner can have a mainstream full-service brand from Marriott that's appropriate for business travelers, without the confusion and/or geographic legal issues that would come from adding another Marriott or Renaissance.

At times, yes. If you have never been to the area it's very odd in that the bad areas are literally 2 blocks away. I go to see the Red Sox play one weekend a year and I would never wander around after a night game is over.
We stay at The Hyatt Regency and try to go to days games

The first time I went to a baseball game a Camden Yards in 2004 I went out on the terrace behind the upper deck and looked out at the city , the first thing I saw was a housing project that looked just like one from The Wire..............and it was used in filming

Eh, there are different cities that have lousy areas near good properties. Not specific to this one.
I look forward to a trip report on the property after it opens as Delta.
Cheers.

Location is on Charles and Lombard so definitely NOT gangland. Does it get a little sketchy a couple of blocks over towards Eutaw...yes at times but overall even there it's not gangland.
