Arts is really dated and has questionable cleanliness in my experience - the EDITION was far nicer.

I had my first stay at an Edition hotel last September for 1 night. Via Laietana was undergoing major construction work during my stay and the traffic was terrible, so I jumped out of the taxi and walked the last 1 km. My room was not ready when I arrived and I won’t repost the photos, since my room was of the same type as in ElevatorEnthusiast’s post who did a fantastic job of highlighting the room. There was something that spoke to me in that room, that sense of elegant understated luxury. The wood tones, the muted colors, the bronzed fixtures, the marble? bathroom. I will say it provides a stark contrast to the building’s odd exterior however. (but then again I loved the couch/day bed like sitting area by the window)

I did get a chance to stop by the rooftop bar and it was magnificent. The lively but not too lively atmosphere, the helpful and enthusiastic staff, the beautiful views of the city, and the food (snacks with an Asian twist) made it a great place to spend my last evening in Barcelona. I wish I had a chance to try the breakfast but I had to catch an early train the next day.

Now, this for me is still a splurge hotel (my rate was 469 EUR), but being able to use SNAs in the future should make it better. I look forward to trying another Edition hotel in the future. Welcome snack and bar food pics are below.

I had a very nice stay at the Edition Barcelona - fantastic location for getting around Born and the Gothic Quarter. Was about a 25 minute walk to the Sagrada Familia. Staff without exception was absolutely fantastic. On check in, the agent was extremely sorry that he couldn't upgrade me as an Ambassador, but the hotel was sold out (I was there on a weekend and fully believe it was sold out - seemed very crowded). Roof bar was absolutely lovely - great music at a good volume so you could actually talk. Restaurant staff were also very attentive without hovering.

My nitpicks - sound insulation could be a bit better. Wasn't enough to bother me, but a couple of times I could hear neighbors. Also - the hall lighting could be a bit brighter. I understand about wanting to create atmosphere, but when I have to actually feel the elevator buttons to figure out where the up and down buttons, it's too dark.

I had a Deluxe Santa Caterina which was very nice - on the end of the hall, so neighbors only on one side.

Is the breakfast still a la carte or is there also a buffet?

3-night stay with a 4 room / 8 person group to end the year post-Hyatt Globalist re-qual. Perfectly nice hotel, good location, but a textbook example of why Marriott "loyalty" is kind of a joke when there are zero elite benefits & no recognition at precisely the type of semi-aspirational property people might want to stay at while on holiday after slogging through a year of CY/SHS/FI/other LS offerings (though I made up for it with a Virtuoso booking via LiveLuxTravel, always great).
  • Nice & responsive service all around, great staff, responsive housekeeping
  • Breakfast - a la carte, no buffet. Good menu, good enough coffee
  • Gym - gets the job done
  • Constant in-room refills of boxed water & nespresso pods
  • Rooftop - quite cool, though there was a private party there closing it off one night...Punch Room was a lot of fun
  • 1 of our 4 rooms was blocked into a Loft Corner Suite the week leading up to the arrival (which was nice)...and was summarily yanked & downgraded to a "Deluxe" (no discernable difference from "Superior" I could tell) the morning of...should have taken a screen shot to protest, but couldn't be bothered

First stay here and enjoyed it for a nicely located summer hotel.

Applied 1 NUA and received a Loft room upgrade. Room was spacious.

Roof deck was a nice place to spend the day. The pool is small but meant for cooling down and then returning to the sunbeds. Service and drinks up there were excellent. Rooftop views of BCN lovely. Lobby bar looked nice too.

Price mid-summer (380 e) with the various festivals etc on I thought was pretty reasonable. Late checkout of 4pm granted too.

No level of status gets you free breakfast at EDITION. I would recommend booking a rate that includes breakfast here, especially a STARS rate, as the breakfast is actually very good (I rarely get out of bed for breakfast but I did here).
