Just had a 2 night weekend stay. Booked late August before the Blue Jays had locked up the division (along with WS tix). Rate was approx $350 CAD/nt, at time of check-in they were asking $950 CAD/nt. The atmosphere was fun, every employee had Jays gear on, extra TVs were brought into the lobby for watch parties, the had give aways, and a WS photo back drop.
As you could imagine the lounge was packed for both breakfast and in the evening. The barista coffees are what make this lounge, food and cash drinks are inline with the brand. The space is large, entire 43rd floor with great views. Kids enjoyed the indoor/outdoor pool, I personally only lasted about 5 mins before hitting the sauna. Walking distance to everything, and Osgood Station is only a block away. I would recommend, but there are couple other other hotels on the waterfront I would try first before returning. |

From a location standpoint, you can't get much better than the Sheraton as it's connected to the Path network which ties in to most of downtown without having to go outside. And yes, Osgoode Station is just a block away, but Queen Station is just as close and accessible inside through the Path. A better option if you are looking to head up to the shopping on Bloor St. |
Fire on the 23rd floor this evening - I saw smoke behind the fire door on the east side of the hallway as an evacuating guest opened the stairwell door for that floor. After the all-clear was given, I noticed my hallway on 24th was still a bit blurry / foggy and smelled different. Unclear of the cause, but props to the Toronto Fire Department for being on site with minutes of the alarm and to the staff for providing frequent announcements over the alarm system.

Minus the fire experience, I have some thoughts about my third or fourth stay here. I’ve written extensively on this property, so I’ll try a rambling style here with photos at the end.
Elite Benefits: I was upgraded to a suite before arrival and able to check in around 11 AM. I was also able to get 4 PM checkout. The suite I was assigned was a corner layout with full separation and a corner window in the bedroom. Elite welcome gift seems to default to points still - I didn’t try to push for a breakfast choice. My welcome gift in the room was lovely with a tea set and some really unique candies. Room: The suite looks the same and should definitely be renovated at some point. Cleanliness is fine / good - nothing concerning. Bathrooms are too small in all room types. The bed is good but could be improved as pillows are a bit lumpy but not uncomfortable and covers are too thin. Mattress is medium and nice. Shower pressure was good / fine. Views towards the south are nice. Living room couch was comfortable. Lounge: Barista coffees all day continue to be a star here. Staff is lovely, especially the evening bar staff who were very nice to an older lady who had been staying for a while and myself who had not been staying for a while - we even got to talking about banknote collecting. The morning staff is also kind but a bit busier. Evening service had plenty of (okay) dessert options and a good fried mac and cheese. My main issue was breakfast as the only egg option was a gross spinach frittata that was overpowered by the spinach. The waffle also was a bit hard. The mango smoothies were fantastic, and I also enjoyed the croissant and single slice of bacon. They should default to scrambled eggs. I would still come back but do hope they improve the club breakfast offering and 86 the spinach. I also look forward to them renovating the rooms at some point. I don’t think it looks like a Sheraton from the 90’s, but more like a Sheraton from the 2010-2015 era, this was the Sheraton look during that decade. Yes, the property is mainly due for a renovation to bring it back to flagship status (as it should be) within the Sheraton portfolio. However, the club lounge here is a model for the whole Sheraton brand, from the size, service, offerings and views on the 43rd floor, this is one not to be missed if you enjoy a top shelf CL product @ a Sheraton branded property, I’ve seen my share of club lounges, concierge lounges (Marriott) and M Lounge and this is the standard… Unless it’s been going down in the last year or so. It’s not the St. Regis or the Ritz, but it’s my favorite FS property in Toronto, and one of my favorite Sheraton hotels ever because of the CL. Whatever they do I hope they don’t downsize it and put in on the ground floor, during a future renovation and revamp of the property, it would be the downfall and a downgrade for this property. I hope they are reading, eh listening. ;)

The thing I love about the Sheraton is my dog was always welcomed with a large bed and NO cleaning fee. (We stayed there while I was waiting for the renos to be finished on my condo.) |

The lounge here (minus the breakfast offering this last time) is definitely one of the best in North America from both a space and service perspective. It is about as close to the Asian experience as NA can offer, I think. The barista coffees are honestly why I keep coming back and staying here over the Westin (where I prefer the rooms and breakfast). They invested a lot of money in renovating the 43rd floor, and I hope they renovate the rooms soon.

@margarita girl I do agree about the Delta and I do like a nice Delta Hotel especially one with an executive lounge which is a rarity, most Deltas have a pantry type setting now instead of an executive lounge, the Delta Toronto could be on my radar for a future stay in TO. It might be hard to steer me away from the Sheraton though ;). |
