It doesn't look like there was a master thread for the Sheraton Omaha, which is different than the original Sheraton that left a while back. This was a Crowne Plaza before flagging under Sheraton. It received a fairly extensive renovation prior to re-opening as a Sheraton. It is about 15 minutes from downtown. The outside looks fairly dated, but they seemed to be working on the sidewalks and landscaping in the front when I was there last weekend. The lobby and staff are nice.
The bathrooms seemed to get a fairly decent gutting. It seems renovations often skimp on the bathrooms, but the vanity is completely new here. The Des Moines Sheraton and the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers are good examples of poorly renovated bathrooms (I'm sure there are others). All the furnishings are new, and they had the best bed stands of any hotel I've been at--they had AC plugs facing the bed!
My one complaint is the mattress seems to be old. You could feel the springs, so I would say the mattress is of the same quality that you might find in an old Holiday Inn Express.
Overall, I'm not going to complain about more Starwood options, but the other chains have much nicer options in Omaha. However, it is a solid Cat 2.
