I do think that someone who started as a waiter can make it all the way to COO of the company.

Does he get lifetime Plat as part of his retirement package ?

I think you meant like instead of think in your first sentence? re: the 2nd.

I would hope that after 38 years and being COO that he gets the 5 Start treatment.

And he would still get Suite upgrades "when available".

no but at 25 years he received the Quarter Century Club membership (not that he needs it...he's a great guy, haven't seen him in a few years but truly one of the best guys out there)

Something odd. Bob gets promoted to COO in "late 2011" and retires less than two years later?

Methinks Arne is doing some additional jiggering to make it more Sorenson, less (Bill) Marriott. @:-)

Arnie was in the COO position immediately before Bob's promotion....Bob has been President of the America's for many many years (could even be a decade at this point)...they have worked together for many many years
