Little Rock Marriott, AR (formerly Peabody) [Master Thread]

I am going to a meeting in Little Rock, AR and was told to make a reservation at the Peabody/Marriott and the number provided was for the Peabody. I called and reservations confirmed that they were transitioning into a Marriott. They are not yet listed on the Marriott webpage but here is one notice:

That would be a great addition since Marriott doesn't have any full service properties in the entire state.

I would hope that the hotel would become part of the Autograph Collection and keep the name because it has a reputation and legacy that becoming an actual Marriott would crush all of that. Guess we will see.

Or a JW like they did with the Essex House in New York.

Having a FS Marriott in Little Rock would be great. I stop off there quite often as it is the half-way point between Dallas and Nashville (and we usually drive to Nashville 3 or 4 times a year.)

It's accurate, just do a google news search.

Might take up to 6 months, though.

Especially if they are going to do some renovations, which based on the pictures, the hotel desperately needs it!

I did do a google search and posted a similar local news story, was just mentioning that there's nothing official from Marriott...

Probably because it is just too far out before the hotel changes its flag and renovations can be delayed.

Typically, since it appears that Marriott is entering into a Management Agreement rather than owning and managing the property, they will not release any statements. Instead, they will have the ownership of the property respond to media inquiries.

I am sure there was some heavy negotiating with this deal.

Management

Looks like Fairwood Capital is purchasing the property, and Davidson Hotels & Resorts will be managing it

It's probably better suited as an EDITION Hotel.

I am excited to finally see a FS Marriott Hotel in the state of Arkansas. The owners seemed to hint at a 1st quarter transition of this year, which would be great!
