Four Points Mexico City [Master Thread]

My GF and I (she's a Mexican citizen, I'm an American) are planning on staying here in August for a leisure trip. It seems as though the neighborhood is great for dining and nightlife, and the hotel itself seems decent enough, and one can't beat the points price. Any other comments from folks who have stayed here recently?
But I also have a question for another trip, for my GF traveling on her own: She has a business conference in the Santa Fe area of Mexico City (She reps Mary Kay cosmetics as an independent sales rep). The hotel that she would stay in if she was spending her own money is around 2000-2200 pesos per day. I would have gifted her the points to stay at this Four Points instead, but it seems to be impractically located relative to the Santa Fe area. I see that there is a brand new hotel under the Marriott banner called the AC Hotel in the Santa Fe district which seems like it would serve the purpose well, and it's a Marriott Cat 3, so not too expensive on a points basis either - although with cash money, it's about 4000 pesos per night. Does anyone know anything about that new Marriott-flagged property? The Sheraton in Santa Fe is about double the cost using points, which would end up being more than I could comfortably give her at this time.

I liked the hotel (stayed a few months ago). There was a big jacuzzi in the middle of the room, and a small juliet balcony looking out at the main street. The room was dated (like an 80s love hotel style) but totally usable.

This has been my go-to hotel recently in Mexico City. I love 2000 or 3000 points per night for award stays, and paid stays are pretty inexpensive as well. Uber has been easy to/from the airport and the area is great for walking and lots of small restaurants around.
I know this area was hard hit by the earthquake, but I'd still like to stay here. Anyone stayed here or in the Roma area recently (since the earthquake)?

Has anybody stayed here recently? Any reports or things to note? What's the breakfast like (though may not matter if they don't un-BONVoY my Ritz status downgrade by my stay)? I BURNVoYd 50k points for a 5 night stay here later this month.

It was a couple of years since I stayed there, but there was a restaurant off the lobby where you ordered off a menu. It was a limited menu, but there were hot option(s). Hopefully someone else has more recent or better details. I would consider it a small step above a diner breakfast (which I personally like), but it wasn't a huge affair.

I have stayed at this property dozens of times and never been tempted to take the breakfast benefit. Never.
YMMV.

Anyone stayed at this property recently? Read on TA that this hotel is/was under renovation and some of the service offering and/or amenities are/were impacted? Also what are the chances of an upgrade as a Platinum? What are the Platinum benefits at this property?

I'm nearing the end of a 2-week stay at the Four Points by Sheraton Mexico City, Colonia Roma, and have had a good experience for the most part. I was also upgraded to a Junior Suite, which is nice and big.
However, I've been frustrated by my difficulty in securing a 4pm late check-out, which I requested upon check in and followed up on multiple times during the course of the stay, both with the front desk and via the in-app chat. Each time, I was told they couldn't guarantee it and I would need to check back later, even after I mentioned that it's a guaranteed benefit for Titanium Elite members (which the front desk flatly denied to be the case). It was only after I sent a link to the relevant page on Marriott's website via the chat that the hotel finally granted me the late check-out.
Is this normal? I would appreciate hearing from the Marriott Bonvoy Lurker Marriott Bonvoy Lurker II Marriott Bonvoy Lurker III team on this. Thank you!
