I got shorted by a couple dollars by a coinstar machine at Kroger when there was the itunes gift card promo and I did the $40 deposit. I put $40 in and it only gave me credit for $38 so I had to put in another $2. I got a $10 gift card out of the promo so I was still $8 Ahead

War nickels (1942-1945) are 35% silver. ^^
They only made Franklin Halves from 1948-1963.
A 1965 Half would be a Kennedy silver clad (40%).

I have been through about 4500 Ikes in the last year or so and found only two silvers (40%). Not worth the effort. Silver Ikes didn't circulate, so they only appear if someone broke open a mint set and dumped it into circulation, which no rational person would do intentionally.

UPS guy came and knocked one softly then left. From experience do they normally come back and try one more time the same day or will it be the next day?

Did he leave a paper on your door? If not, he might be coming back later that day. Luckily, this never happens to me since I live in a community and if I'm not there it goes to the main office which is better than not receiving it that day or having it left outside...

Hopefully the Reagans make it in the direct ship program, if the program is still around then. Hopefully Jackie Speier's plans don't go through before the Reagan coin is minted, that is one dollar coin I would like to have in my collection.
