You are lucky that your local grocery store allowed you to do that without raising any suspicion. I also had no problem getting a MO for 479.65 including fee but I only got one.

Not really Luck, other than my stores still work (only 2 swipes) and little competition around here. I've been doing this for years and all my local stores know me by name. With my closest store, I would say these ladies are like friends. They know why I do it, so no suspicion at all. Oh and thanks for the data point. Need to get a few more cards to cap off my grocery spending.

Today I was able to use a Meta/BHN VGC for a $479 MO (plus $0.69 MO Fee) in a single swipe. This VGC is not the same $500 VGC/MGC I failed to to purchase last time though.

At my local WD:

$479 + $0.89 works fine for meta/bhn, I've also been able to do that amount split between 3 metas.

I immediately followed that with a incomm (successful) followed by another meta/bhn (not authorized)

Minimum amount of time that I did so far for a successful transaction was waiting 10+ min in between metas, still trying to try 5 and 8 min.

Thanks for the DP about multiple swipes. I've been doing $449.xx without issue so I'll try $479. next time. My usual wait time is 7-8 minutes and it's been fine. 5 minutes is not long enough

I purchased a 500.00 Vanilla from Walmart (Incomm/Pathward) went to local grocery store and got a money order for 470.00. Now I have 29.11 left on the card. Not a big deal I just put it toward an ins payment. However I am wondering if I should just purchase the Vanilla for 471.00 and not have any leftover.Or will they lower my limit to say 450.00?

I've been buying them for $475.

Don’t the Vanillas liquidate for the full amount?

They do. I think some ppl confuse the bank managing the card, with the company that manufactures the card. They think anything with Pathward is automatically blocked.

Bought some Restaurant Everywhere Visas from OfficeMax and immediately bought $199 MOs plus fee. Went through smoothly.

So far, I was able to buy $474 MO without an issue recently, however, yesterday it didn't work. Am I correct to assume that probably someone before me purchased a MO with similar card?

Could be that or something else. You need to provide more details. Which card? Which store? If you felt it could have been too close to a prior MO purchase, did you wait 5-8 minutes and retry? There are a lot of variables out there right now.

It was a Publix store. The card was MCGC issued by Pathfinder. I didn't wait 5-8 minutes, when the swipe wasn't authorized I used a regular debit card to finish a purchase. Usually these types of cards in this chains work for that amount. But not yesterday. I'll try today and report.

Some recent DPs saying that MCGCs don't work at all now for any amount. Would be helpful to know if that was true.

Unless I'm mistaken, isn't it true that it doesn't matter who ISSUES the card, it only matters who SERVICES it? If it's serviced by Incomm, it should be "drainable" for the full amount, right? There are no velocity limits for Incomm-serviced cards, correct?
