That's your problem. Deposit at an ATM, not at a teller.

It helps in my limited experience with them

Not foolproof. They got me after ATM deposits.

Capitalone closed my spark account even before I could activate it, citing how they didn't like activity on a previous account.

is there any way to get the account closure removed from my credit report?

Was your previous account shut down? What card was the problem ?

the previous account was a venture one, which was shutdown citing activity that was not consistent with their policies. I barely used the account, but the last activity before the shutdown on that account was a reward redemption for a statement credit for $0.01, which I didn't request. I didn't pay attention to it and accepted the shutdown since I didn't use the account anyway. I didn't realize it would get me blacklisted.

Are you saying you got the redemption applied to the account on its own without you requesting it? Or did you mean you started it but didn't go through with that request?

My CapOne Venture was shut down in January. I had it a couple years and was just loading my NW Buxx card and making debit payments to it. Didn't really care about that shutdown since Buxx went away. Funniest thing, today I got a letter from Kohl's closing my store card with them because it's issued by CapOne and they "observed activity on a past or present Capital One account that is not consistent with our expectations of usage for personal, family, or household purposes."

My 2 business CapOnes (Spark) were closed in December last year. The reason was "my spending was consistent with expectations of usage for personal or household use". They forfeited all my cash back plus posted "account closed" on my personal credit report. I lost about 45K in credit lines and some cash back.

Is a Crapital One ban permanent?

What? If it the freaky biz card so of course it is not consistent with personal or household use:rolleyes:

But what did you do, girl?

I know I had one reward point and a $0 balance and two months later I was notified that there was a cash reward redemption for $0.01. I'm not really sure how it happened but I confident that I didn't redeem that point. I probably should have disputed it or done something back then, but I didn't.

shortly after that, I got the generic letter with the same wording as others.

I used both of CapOnes for business purposes. Bathroom remodel in one of my rentals ($10K), construction work, high-end furnishing for Airbnb rental. Once in a while I purchased GCs from Simon mall but not too often. Never used these business cards for personal spend and always paid in full.

Were you cycling your cards or just doing 1x credit limit per month?
