However, I haven't taken him up on it because since that happened, I've been staying at a different hotel which is much closer to South. I go to Vegas enough, and go buy GC's almost every day I'm there, so that they know me.

so you go to city center or only LV South? never been to LV north surprisingly. how did you break in your CC in the beginning at a totally different location? u must have triggered something. i never MS in vegas to avoid fraud alerts and eyes on the account. esp amex. dont need FR and etc.

You're missing out then. There is a lot of MS opportunity in LAS. I MS there every time I go (2-3 times a year).

I'm stocking up too, which got me to wondering. Has anyone ever had Simon VGC's hacked? I've had grocery store VGC's hacked before, but never Simon...but I normally don't keep them very long. But now that I'm stocking up on them, I will not be able to use some of them for a week or two after purchase.

its always possible and YMMV depending on your location. so you should get rid of it ASAP. the only difference is, again depending on your location, the simon VGC are held with the office and not outside vs other hacked cards which are always exposed to the wild. getting hacked always happens at the worst time (murphy's law).

And Hilton must think that if you are spending $40K on their card (besides paying an annual fee), that the benefits you obtain such as a free breakfast and a possible room upgrade are more than compensated by the additional business you generate by staying at one of their lodgings over the year.
And remember that much of the time I am staying at Hampton's and their ilk which give me absolutely no real benefit over a non-member guest in benefits received (other than points and a "thank you" for being an elite .)

the diamond has a lot more value than a “ty”. You just have to know how to use it but this is the Simon thread :-)

I usually go to South outlets. I buy at Forum Shops only if I have another reason to go near there. I don't have free parking at Caesar's, and while I do at MGM, it's quite a hike from the Bellagio parking garage.

I haven't had that much trouble with my CC. I think once I got declined after 2-3 days of $10K/day but I called and once they verified I was good to go. With all my CC's I expect I might get declined the first time but I call and they unblock and I usually don't have trouble after that. Where I live it's 30 miles to the nearest SM so I'd be foolish not to load up while I'm in Vegas. I do worry a bit about keeping track of them, I admit. It's kind of like coming home with $50-$80K in cash in my suitcase.

Hopefully they are in your carry-on & you can keep close watch over them as you travel. Suggest also you keep receipts attached/rubber-banded to each package of cards. Also -- maybe over-kill but you never know -- print out an article or two about MS & keep with the cards. Everything you can do to mitigate the risk of civil forfeiture hell.

You are doing a good service to put out this reminder. Many who MS on their trips should heed that advice. Though some may not even know what civil forfeiture is.

Key words for those who carry large sum of cash/cash equivalent going thru airport security check points. You need to understand this risk which is Very Real.

DP on recent shipment

Ordered on Tuesday 12/11. Shipped on Wed 12/12. Priority mail arrived on Sat 12/14.

I usually keep the receipts separate, so that if something happens to the cards I still have the receipts. And I do keep them in my carry-on.

I am trying to go to a local simon mall to run several VGC.
May I know how the VGC will be charged as in the credit card? trying to see if it meet any 5% cash back category in the holiday shopping.

thanks a lot

Each Simon Mall business office selects their own Merchant Category Code, so they vary. Never heard of one qualifying for anything other than the base redemption level for any credit card.

Nope.
It is a Mall Management Company, not a retailer nor a dept store.

Has anyone had recent success with Simon Mall cards counting towards MQD waiver. Bought $4k worth of gift cards on the 22 and charges posted as the name of the mall but hasn't updated on deltas app yet called and the rep said that it will post once my statement closes so not sure how correct that is. Should I spend another $4k by other means or should I be good to go? Thanks
