Wow, been a few days now. I'd be really, really mad if I had cards that I could not activate. Thankfully, I am all cashed out currently of these cards.

Yeah, this is BS. I'm sitting on a bunch right now that can't be activated. Not going to be me, but I'm betting they get a bunch of chargebacks over this since you can't even reach customer service. If Blackhawk wasn't such a big company I would think that maybe they just picked up and left the country. I wonder if all there systems got compromised or something and they just shut everything down.

That is exactly what is so weird about it, but you are probably right. Something happened, and they needed to do a big overhaul. However, the longer they don't communicate, the stranger it becomes.
GiftCards.com is an online gift card retailer based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.[1][2] The company sells gift cards for thousands of different large corporate retailers and small businesses[3] including Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, Sephora, Coach, Amazon.com, and others.[4][5][6] The company also offers prepaid Visa and MasterCard gift cards. GiftCards.com is considered the largest online gift card retailer[1][7][8] and has appeared on the Inc. 5000 list multiple times (most recently in 2015).[9][10] The company is currently owned by Blackhawk Network Holdings after its purchase of the retailer in 2016.[11] The company is not currently doing any business, and their website has been down since September 24, 2017.[12] |
Yeah this outage is starting to get worrisome. Was trying to activate the cards since Sunday and couldn't do so. And now the website is still down! :x

I'm glad my last order came in Sat which seems to be the last day the site and app were active. If some of my cards weren't up for cut this week, I would've ordered more last Saturday. I hope those who just got their orders and those with orders in transit can still activate those cards so they don't have to file chargebacks with CCs which may possibly put eyes on their accounts.

If you call the number you just get an automated message and then goodbye |
Called 925-226-9990, got a live person. "They are working on the issue. There is no ETA on when the site will be working."
Giftcardmall.com and giftcardlab.com seems like it's working. giftcards.com and omnicard.com seems dead. |

Just tried too. It was kinda funny, in a sad way.
Looks like the site is experiencing some erros if you go in debug mode: Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 503 (Service Unavailable) |

I have had fraud in the past on a VGC purchased at WM. I got that resolved, but it took months and was a PITA. So now I usually purchase from GC.com and don't activate the cards until just before I plan to use them. That way I don't have thousands of dollars of active VGCs sitting around that are ripe for plucking. I hope this keeps me a little safer. But October 1 is just a few days away, so I will want to activate some of my VGCs late this week. Hopefully the site is up before then, but if not, I would try to call to activate. |
I still have an open dispute with these guys over some missing money I talked about in the Wally World MO thread. Just seem too big to me to not be some kind of significant glitch, rather than a bankruptcy, you are screwed kind of deal.

Just wondering... If you can get a human on the phone, does anyone know if that person would actvate VGCs for us?
