Your math is wrong. Please see T &C

Bank of America Preferred Rewards clients earn an additional 25% to 75% rewards bonus on every purchase, applied to the base earn of 1 point per $1.

Personally, I like BOA travel, it pays 2.625X for everything.
Assuming you mean the BOA Travel Rewards Visa?

And, you are a BOA PR client making you eligible for more than the 1.5x + 10% of that with a banking relationship?

I am using the BOA Travel for small travel charge redemptions in the interim since the demise of worthwhile Barclay Arrival retentions.

Not a PR client, however. $20K at BOA at .008%? No.

I have the BOA cash also but it's as good as sock drawered.

For more detail discuss, please see http://www.doctorofcredit.com/bank-o...all-purchases/ from Jan 15 that discuss all BoA card with preferred status for BoA Travel Reward, BoA AAA Member Rewards, and BoA Cash Rewards

travel reward:
Platinum Honors: 2.625x points on all purchases

cash reward:
Platinum Honors: 5.25% back on gas station purchases
Platinum Honors: 3.5% back on grocery store purchases
The main problem is that you can only spend $1,500 per quarter combined in these categories

Platinum Honors: 3.75x points on AAA purchases
Platinum Honors: 3.75 points on travel purchases
Platinum Honors: 2.75x points on GGD purchases(Gas, Grocery & Drug Store)

From T &C

AAA Member Rewards Program Information. Earn one point for every dollar of qualifying purchases less credits, returns and adjustments (“Net Purchases”) charged to the card each billing cycle. Earn 2 points per dollar (consisting of 1 bonus point and 1 base point) for Net Purchases made with the card at any eligible gas, grocery or drug store merchant. Earn 3 points per dollar (consisting of 2 bonus points and 1 base point) for Net Purchases made with the card through any participating AAA Club when AAA is the merchant of record, or at eligible retail travel merchants.

Bank of America Preferred Rewards clients earn an additional 25% to 75% rewards bonus on every purchase, applied to the base earn of 1 point per $1.

So with the 75% bonus, the numbers become 1.75X, 2.75X, and 3.75X.

Personally, I like BOA travel, it pay 2.625X for everything.

No. It's combined balances in checking/savings or investment accounts only.

Balance in investment accounts do count as well.

Maybe repeating above, but: BofA calculates the Preferred Rewards bonus differently depending on the card. Carefully read #1 below, esp. the "for all other cards" sentence, from the PR T&C.

1.Bonus will vary based on your type of rewards program. BankAmericard Cash Rewards™ and BankAmericard Privileges® with Cash Rewards bonuses apply to rewards redeemed into a Bank of America® checking or savings account or a Merrill Lynch Cash Management Account®. BankAmericard Travel Rewards® bonus applies to customers with a qualifying account. For these cards, if enrolled in Preferred Rewards, your base reward earnings will increase by 25%, 50% or 75%, depending on eligible tier. For example, if you earn $100 in base rewards, your Preferred Rewards bonus will add $25, $50 or $75 to your reward earnings, totaling $125/$150/$175 depending on your tier. The bonus will replace the customer bonus you may already receive with the card. For all other eligible points and cash rewards cards, the Preferred Rewards bonus is applied to the monthly base rewards depending on eligible tier. For a complete list of ineligible cards and additional program details, please refer to the card eligibility guidelines that follow.

2.Card eligibility guidelines: Most Bank of America® branded consumer credit cards (such as the BankAmericard Cash Rewards™ credit card and the BankAmericard Travel Rewards® credit card) are eligible to receive the Preferred Rewards bonus, as long as the card account is open and in good standing. The Preferred Rewards bonus will replace the customer bonus you may already receive with the card.

Cards not eligible for the rewards bonus: Non-rewards credit cards; Business purpose credit cards; BankAmericard Privileges® (except Cash Rewards customers in the Platinum Honors tier); Bank of America Accolades®; BankAmericard® Better Balance Rewards™; Merrill Lynch branded (including Merrill Accolades®, MERRILL+®, Total Merrill® Cash Back, Total Merrill Match® and Merrill Lynch® Octave™); U.S. Trust branded (including Bank of America Accolades and U.S. Trust® Octave™); AAA Dollars® Visa credit card; AAA® Gas Rebate; Alaska Airlines®; Amway™; Asiana Airlines®; Azamara Club Cruises®; Bass Pro Shops®; Celebrity Cruises®; Elite Rewards®; MelaleucaSM;Royal Caribbean International®; Spirit Airlines®; US Airways®; Virgin Atlantic Airways®. This list is subject to change without prior notice.

AAA bans are branch dependent.
