Liquidating at Walmart
Hey all,
Curious as to people's practice of liquidating GCs at Walmart. Whether it be for MOs, Bluebird, or Billpay.
Does anyone actually walk in with say a stack of cards and take 15-20 minutes swiping multiples for MOs? Are there Walmart CSRs that will simply sit there and let you obviously liquidate a stack of cards? Is using Kate instead to do numerous transactions a possibility? (I know Kate has a screen limiting to $2000/transaction of MOs, but perhaps numerous transactions is possible)
Or is being discreet more important to you?
In other words... what's your average/max number of cards you will liquidate at Walmart at once?
Cheers!

One of my Kate's is in kind of a corner near MC, behind a pole. I could stand there all day and no WM employee would likely notice me. However I usually check behind me every transaction, if anyone is waiting I go window-shop and come back to it after they leave. Only one time I stayed there the whole time, when I needed to dump 13 MGC I picked up from the OD sale.
The other Kate I wouldn't do more than maybe 4 at a shot.
With cashiers, if I'm liquidating $200 GC I'll ask for $400 as 2x$200. If they ever asked me about it, which they have not, I'd say I am depositing from my own account and a joint account with the spouse.
That's about my limit. I do try to keep a low profile. I always have my bank debit card handy to present in case they ask to see a card.

I've always wondered if you can split payment when unloading VGCs at Walmart. i.e. Can you put a load of $1000 and pay with 5 $200 VGCs?

when loading at the register, YES but limited to 4 swipes plus workaround with the card being loaded considered as one swipe. read wiki on BB/Serve threads for full details.
