I just tried kmart in NYC and they are cash only.

I did find a grocery store that has $300 limit for .99. What's the best strategy with that?

I didn't ask what the max I could purchase was..

So it's not worth it? What do you mean by split tender?

That means: That they allow you to purchase a Money Order up to $1000 at a time but will NOT allow you to use multiple Cards in the same transaction "Split tender." The effect of that is having to buy multiple $500 MO to unload cards.

If this was even somewhat viable at USPS, dont you think a much longer thread would already exist ?

Yes, but now most people here are interested in discussing Money Order solutions in the NYC area. Any input you have is highly appreciated!

Gotcha thanks.

Is my best bet the grocery store at $300 for .99. Or pay o matic for 500? Not sure of fee there.

Pay-O-Matic is $.99 + a debit card fee of $1.00 so that = $1.99 per MO, and they don't allow you to use multiple debit cards in one transaction so effectually the best you could do there is multiple MO of $498.01.

Just tried the Pay o Matic today. Does they take your photo, scan DL for just ONE $498.00 MO? Is this usual?

May be YMMV situation. Actually the cashier said the fee is $1.00 and I asked her MO for $499 to make this even $500. Later she asked me to swipe for $501 and I said I will pay $1 in cash. Not sure what she thought after this, She scanned my DL in the machine, Took my Photo from the webcam then entered my DL#into system and AT LAST She asked me to SEE THE DEBIT CARD.

I just gave $1 and pretended that not heard what she said, then she too did not asked me again.
