$5,000. I was unable to liquidate $5,000 worth of VGCs before leaving for vacation. I try not to float much.

Actually floating kind of sucks. Just prior to the CC from CVS disappearing, I was floating about 5k. On the night before I floated near 20k (way out of my comfort zone). Now the float has gone down to 5k again.
But the scary thing is I'm trying to figure out if it was actually only float, since after all my cc payments, I feel like my bank account balance has decreased significantly.
Floating money constantly I guess numbs the value of the actual dollar and seems like my spending has gone up in the mean time

Hey, you too? When I buy & sell all of my private jets & yachts, I like to push it through there so they know I'm really somebody.

During the days of the mint, total float for the month peaked at $450k. Gotta remember back in the day The Zombie Buffalo was allowing the purchase of 30 day CDs by credit card, The First Bank of the Spook wasn't spooked, there were many miles earning debit cards to spend float and turbocharge MS. There were other great opportunities as well. You could have a lot of fun rolling over IRAs (60 day windows) and pushing the funds out checking accounts with miles earning debit cards over and over again.
