I did get the $5 off the next purchase too. I have bought 1 ($500) variable Visa at Kroger last night. This is San Diego.

I got the coupons today in the DFW area today as well, but did not try a single card purchase. Both of my stops were multiple card purchases. Strange because these promos have always started on Wednesday's in the past for DFW area. I like it though.

Yes I was surprised too today to get the coupon ,bought 2x$500 MC...

I got the coupon too. I bought 2 x 500 Visas twice at Frys (Kroger) in AZ and got the coupon both times. Once with my VIP card and the other without.

Noob question, do you need to scan your Kroger card and is it capped according to that? If not, then it's free groceries time!!!

I can confirm that my coupon was printed out without scanning my card. Would like to know if the $100 VGC works. If so, it would be better than $500 ones after fuel pts.

I haven't tried it yet without scanning my Kroger Card. But it is not capped. As I mentioned before though you can only use 1 coupon per order. I was able to get a friendly cashier to override the system one time last time and use 2 coupons on one purchase.

I can confirm that I am getting the coupon with purchase of one variable load card.

Up to this past weekend, I was getting 4x fuel points on weekends with the digital 2x coupon + the 2x fuel for $100 visa gift cards. This appears to be dead now as this past weekend I only got 2x on the vgc. Anyone else notice this?

I thought you get fuel points only on Fixed GC and not Variable GC. Can you confirm you get 2x on the VGC($500 GC)?

It doesn't matter what cashback card you are using. If the coupon prints for $100 VGC, then for $500 value of VGC, your purchase fee is $5 (0.95*5). And you also get $1000 fuel pts, which can be worth $10-$35 depending on how much gas you can refill for one time. Therefore you net profit is more than $5 besides your CC cashback.
The only constraint is of course the amount of gas you need/store

It depends on what card you are using honestly and how much gas you go through. I have a 5x card so I make cashback on a $500 gc purchase and the $5 coupon is just the icing on the cake now.

The only constraint is of course the amount of gas you need/store Here is a more effective breakdown using a 5% card. 1 $500 Variable- $505.95 x 5%= $25.30CB - $5.95 fee= $19.35 profit + $5 coupon 1 $100 Fixed Card- $105.95 x 5%= $5.30CB - $5.95 fee= ($0.65) loss + $5 coupon +200 Fuel points valued from $3-$7 depending on if you fill up 15 or 35 gallons. I would rather churn through more $500 variable cards and make more profit than be stuck with gas discounts. I will however probably get enough for 1000 fuel points so I can get a $1 off a gallon for a fillup! |
